General Electric WB2X2052 Range Vent Hood Grease Filter

Exactly what I was looking for

We've tried cleaning our existing range hood filter several times over the years since we moved into our apartment. We were never able to get it very clean no matter what we tried. Being on the top floor, every time our neighbors turned their exhaust fans on the smell came in through our range hood until we turned on our exhaust fan. Since installing this new screen those odors have been much less noticeable and there is a definite increase in fan velocity when we turn it on. Well worth the price, I wish I'd ordered this filter years ago. I may very well order another one just to have a backup.

I needed to replace the grease filter in a very very old stove hood and this fit perfectly!

There are instructions on the filter that states it can be washed using hot water and detergent. I simple used the faucet to flush the grease off and soaked it twice, and its new again! I had been using it for a year and oil built up and started dripping ( I am into chinese cooking). I read the reviews and decided it wouldn't be worth trying to wash based on other comments. So, i ordered a filter which was refurbished with a lower price than a new filter but still around $15. It arrived and it was crooked and not a dome shape at all. So i decided to try washing the old one see if it would work, and it surprisingly did!! Soak it in the sink for a couple hours, and the detergent cleans the sink at the same time. I would never buy another filter again! Save your hard earned money by simple washing it under hot water and detergent!!

This generic replacement is priced right and fits perfectly. I tried to wash our neglected filter, but nothing worked. I tried washing it in the dishwasher using the high-temperature option in pots & pans mode, but that did nothing. I tried using a steam cleaner, but that didn't work. I was about to try using my gas-powered pressure washer, but I decided that would be too much work. Just get this instead of wasting your time cleaning the old one. However, if anyone has suggestions on how to clean these, I'd love to hear from you. I have another one of these that costs $80 to replace, so I'd like to try to clean that one.

Not much to say about this filter. Perfect replacement for our old one. FYI, these are hard to find in your local hardware store. Amazon is awesome!

Not quite as sturdy as the original filter, but it fits and looks much better. This fit on an older GE hood range that still runs strong (pretty sure it’s from the early 80s). They definitely don’t make stuff like this anymore!
