If you're a fan of Wicked, the upcoming movie, or just love detailed collector dolls, this Elphaba Deluxe Fashion Doll does not disappoint. Mattel really went all-in on the design and quality with this one. The first thing I noticed is the movie-accurate look — from her iconic green skin tone to her outfit details, everything feels premium and intentional. The fabric on the dress feels high-quality, not thin or cheap, and the stitching is clean. Her accessories (including her hat and broom) really bring the whole character to life. The doll itself is sturdy and well-made, with good pose-ability. She stands nicely on her own with the included stand, which is a big deal if you display your collectibles. Now for the honest part: She’s definitely more of a collector’s item than a play doll. Younger kids can play with her, but the outfit is detailed enough that you’ll probably want to take care of it to keep it looking nice. Although I live elphaba I think I got a defective doll as her hands and legs are reversed! That is to say her thumbs point to the outside instead of inward! In that I unpackaged her I don’t think I can return it and I’m abit disappointed and there is no way to twist or manipulate her hands and it makes it tricky for her to hold her broom. Otherwise it is a nice resemblance of the character and surprised that Mattel has poor quality control! Check before unboxing the doll which is super securely packaged in case you may want to return it if defective.
