Awesome toy, but use caution for destructive chewers
My three cats love things they can do together, and this was an instant favorite. My two active ones enjoy trying to catch the unpredictable "prey", and my big lazy guy likes to watch the movement. They like it so much that they learned how to turn it on (it's not easy for them because the power button has good resistance, but they care enough to work at it). I was worried they'd run the batteries out, but it's been a month and the originals are still going strong. The auto shutoff conserves power. The body of the toy is sturdily made and a good weight. With the rubber feet, it doesn't slide all over. It's certainly not silent, but it's not any louder than my PC fans. The noise itself is just a robotic whirring. The only drawback I've found is that a quick cat CAN catch the feather if they try, and if you have a rough player or a chewer, they may break/eat it. That said, one of mine IS a destructive chewer and hasn't destroyed it yet. The most he's done is pull a few bits off. I think it's because as soon as he lets go to chew on it, the "prey" pops back inside. You know your cat best though, and if you're worried maybe give this one a pass. Apart from that, I definitely recommend this toy. I'm really happy with the value, and the fact that you can buy replacement feather ends doesn't hurt.

1/3 cats play, they all enjoy watching it! Safe and effective!
It doesn't turn on automatically. That would be cool. Comes with batteries! Blue light stays on until it auto shuts off. My big guy absolutely loves it. He also bullies it so it slides. There are rubber feet, but honestly, it sliding is not a worry for me. He hasnt been able to flip it or make it not work. Hes about 12 lbs of Tom cat. It helps decrease fights between my big guy and my birdie guy. (birdie guy will stalk big guy when hes irritated, and big guy will play rough on birdie guy when bored. Not a good combo). I do think it will depend on your cats demeanor and what kind of toys they like. This big guy prefers ground play and toys that mimic bugs. He loves this toy. My guy that prefers bird or flying types of toys, isnt super interested, but he also doesnt like playing with the big guy. My old guy likes to watch but hes not big on anything other than a real bug, cat nip or laser lights lol I dont feel like it's much louder than my air purifier on high. The lights mean different things. Read the instructions. Comes with a spare feather! It's much less annoying than them trying to "hunt" eachother. that's for sure. It acts like prey. It will stop occasionally to gain the cats attention. This is def a great thing in our house. Just use my toe to turn it on when the cats seem to be needing to let out energy. (Helpful if your busy cooking or doing another task or pregnant and exhausted like me lol). My cat hasnt been able to catch the feathers yet, surprisingly which keeps him interested. I'm very happy for once an interactive toy that is safe and very effective as the feathers hide when not in use.

Works fine!
Both cats stare at it, one of them goes CRAZY mode on it and the other prefers to just keep an eye on it. It's a little loud but that's to be expected with this kind of thing. As far as I can tell, there isn't a motion sensor you can use so that they could play with this when I'm not home, you just turn it on and it'll run for a while. I wanted to help my cats be less bored when I'm gone, so that was kind of a bummer.

Worth buying your cat will love it!
Awesome interactive toy! This is my second one and both cats loved it. Built well and the option for battery or a wall plug “ sold separately “ makes sure it will last years! No dead internal battery later. They also have extra features to purchase.

It was entertaining to watch
The toy worked well, but my cats only watched it. The build quality was good and it came with batteries. I could swear that it knew when my cat was there. When it had timed out, my calico started tapping on the top as if to turn it on again. I wouldn’t use it faster than the slowest setting. They wouldn’t play with it and ignored it after the first day. I feel that it’s because they can’t hold onto it or easily catch it. So, I returned it. Like many cat toys, it’s a hit or miss. It will depend on your cat.

Cats Love These Things
I’ve owned a few of these now and every cat I’ve ever presented it to has gone bonkers over it. My last cat went through two. She was a destructive little monkey, but actually a pretty big cat. She could actually grab the feather in her mouth and pick the whole unit up in her mouth and carry it or flick her neck and throw it. She was tough on these, but she really liked beating them up. The cat I have now enjoys sitting and staring at it and occasionally swatting at it. She lets me know she wants to play with it by going and sitting next to it and looking from me to it until I go turn it on. They’re pretty sturdy unless your cat throws them, even then, the case, etc holds up fine. It’s the feathers that take a beating. It comes with one extra feather in the box, but I’d recommend getting the package of spares, too. The batteries last a really long time, even with regular play. It’s a little noisy, but the cats seem to get used to that quickly. It’s a really great toy.

Received a broken toy. Sound scared my cats.
I purchased this for a Christmas gift for my cats. When I turned it on for my cats, not only does the noise it makes scare my cats, but it was broken. I looked inside because I never saw anything poke out. There was some loose part inside that had a threaded end but no feather or anything was attached. Unfortunately, I threw the box away and wrapped it so it was ready to go when they opened their present. Such a disappointment. Horrible product!

Loved it so much I bought it twice
This is the second time I bought this toy because 3 of my 5 cats are obsessed with it. The first one I bought lasted 6 years before my large kitten got a little too rough with it and it stopped working, so needless to say this toy will last a long time even with regular use. The first one I got was pretty loud, which my cats didn't seem to mind, but this newer one is so much quieter. It still makes audible motor noises, but not nearly as much. This newer one also has 3 speed settings, which the old one did not, but even the fastest setting is much slower than what I am used to. I do worry it won't hold my cats' attention as much, but we will see. Its easy to use, my cats play with it every time I turn it on, and it is absolutely worth the price. If your cat doesn't get scared from motor noises, this is a must buy.
