Overwhelmingly Positive Experience — I’m Stunned!
I’m stunned by the how incredible the Saros 10R is. I’ve been a iRobot Roomba customer for twenty years, and stubbornly stayed in Roombaland much longer than I should’ve. I finally switched when my last Roomba, a once-top-of-the-line J9+ Combo, fell victim to a known charging base defect that, once broken, made recharging impossible and essentially bricked the unit. Because I was just a bit outside of warranty, iRobot wouldn’t replace my charging / mopping base and offered me $150- toward the cost of replacing it outright from them directly, which they were still selling at that time for another $1,400. I jumped ship, rage-ordered a Saros 10R on the spot, and have never looked back. I’ve owned it for the last month+ and am just gobsmacked by how much better a cleaning machine this Roborock is compared to all the other Roombas I’ve ever owned (numerous models over years). My floors have never been cleaner as the vacuuming and mopping technology this machine employs are exceedingly better than my last Roomba. It just … *works* … does what it’s supposed to, properly, when you expect it to. No more weird ‘I’m stuck’ errors or ‘I’m lost under the dining table / chairs *again* and can’t find my way out even though I’ve been here dozens and dozens of times before’ problems. No more VSLAM technology slowly chipping and scraping the hell out of my expensive walnut furniture. No more being afraid to let it run while I’m away from home because something would inevitably fail with whatever scheduled cleaning it was supposed to be running. This machine is incredible. It is solidly built. It is easy to use and set up. It quickly accurately and effortlessly mapped my home on its first mapping run. Its obstacle avoidance is superior to any other Roomba I’ve owned, and works flawlessly. It avoids bumping into any of my furniture as it is sensitive enough to get right up next to table / desk / sofa / chair / bed legs and clean around them without actually connecting or coming into contact with any of them. It’s just … well, I want to write ‘perfect’ but as nothing can be truly perfect I’ll just write I am at a loss to list anything I have a quibble with. Plus, it’s almost eerily quiet compared to my last Roomba. I can barely tell where it is in my house without looking at the app or scouting for it when it’s working unless it’s very nearby. My dog used to run out of any room my last Roomba entered, but now he just glances at the 10R and continues napping or playing or whatever without fear. My husband complained pretty frequently about how loud our last Roomba was, and I now joke to friends the Saros 10R practically saved our marriage because it’s so much quieter when it’s cleaning. My household is comprised of two adults, one pretty fluffy medium-haired cat, one small short-haired dog, no children, and mostly hard-surface flooring with low-to-medium-pile area rugs and runners in almost every room but the bathrooms. It is brand-new construction and so is without extreme-door-sill or room-threshold height challenges, but I’ve seen my Saros 10R navigate over low-furniture barriers like the base of my console and coffee tables without any difficulty whatsoever using the AdaptLift Chassis feature — that technology is pretty impressive. I love this thing. So much. If you’re a frustrated Roomba owner like I was, or looking to upgrade your Roborock, don’t hesitate — the Roborock Saros 10R … ROCKS. Ugh, sorry. I couldn’t resist.

Great Vacuum cleaner
Great little helper for daily cleaning. The Saros robotic vacuum cleans well, moves smartly around the house, and saves a lot of time. It’s easy to use, works quietly, and keeps floors clean with almost no effort. Definitely worth it for everyday cleaning.

Unreliable vacuum, disappointing mop. Mixed navigation.
I really wanted to like thing this not especially after having an awful experience with a different >$1k vac from a competitor. Sadly I can report that as a vaccuum, this $1600 model is far less reliable at actually picking up debris and hair than a $50 generic stick vac. 1. The Vacuum The final straw for me was trying to clean up some hair from my bathroom floor after a hair cut. I ran the unit over the smaller area exactly 8 times and it still failed to remove every strand. As you can see in my video, it literally rolls right over smaller lighter strands of hair. These were not wet or stuck down, I could move them by blowing on them. And yes, I had made sure there were no clogs and that the dust bin was empty. I ran it on maximum+ suction each pass. As a vacuum, my 3 year old roborock q5 was a superior product at 1/3rd the price. That thing got tangled in hair and didn't avoid socks, while the saros 10r still eats the occasional sock it never gets tangled in hair. The split roller design is good, but it leaves a ton of hair on the ground as it passes over anyway. Can't be tangle free when you don't pick up hair at all! It's not just hair that it misses, it also drives over finer chunks of dirt I spilled from houseplants and other objects that should be no problem to pick up. 2. The mop I might be asking too much of this technology, but I had hoped running it often would help keep my kitchen floor tiles clean. I cook often and sometimes fine amounts of oil splatters on the ground. When the mop is done working, the kitchen floor never feels clean, but it does become cloudy. I've tried maximum water and max detergent settings (using the roborock first party detergent) and all it does is seem to spread the oil across the floor evenly, moving it to areas and rooms it wasn't even close to originally. I've got the mop set to clean at the highest frequency too, I'm pretty much maxed out on all settings, it simply doesn't do a great job here. It also failed to remove a small dried on blob or sauce that I left out as a test. Since buying this thing I think I've actually had to use my hand held mop and vacuums more often just because I feel like the area SHOULD be clean after spending this kind of money on something. 3. The navigation So on one hand this thing crushed the ecovacs x9 I was comparing it to, which couldn't drive in a straight line or map my area to save it's life. On the other hand the lack of a lidar tower is still painfully obvious. The unit still kinda meanders a bit and misses some obvious paths, it's not terrible- but again my old q5 did a much better job. The 10r also has failed to recognize a cord and a sock once or twice, though it's a huge improvement over the q5 which had no object avoidance at all. Bottom line is this: I'm returning it. No way I can justify this premium expense for a product that fails to be a functional vacuum or a functional mop. I really wanted to like it too because I love the roborock app, it's just that I also need my vaccuum to be able to you know... vacuum things.

Great Vacuum Most Of The Time
Love the thin profile of this vacuum. It goes under all my furniture. The only thing that I don't like is that it ran over a power cord and got stuck. One of the two mops actually got pulled off and I had to reinstall it. Other than that it works perfectly. All my floors are tile no carpets. It goes back to the base station several times during a cleaning run to wash the mops. Did a great job mapping my home. I run this on the second floor of my home where we have two bedrooms, closets, and a bathroom. It mapped all the rooms, closets, and bathroom perfectly. Floors are clean and dust free after a cleaning run. Setup was easy...plug and play. I run a Eufy on the first floor. I think the 10R is a better system because it is thinner and cleans under all the furniture. However, it cost me twice as much money as the Eufy. I saw on Amazon that this was a high return item and they actually stopped listing it for a while. I'm not sure why that is because it's worked great for me other than the one time it ran over a power cord under one of my beds. UPDATE I paid $1600 for mine at $999 it's a steal. Wish I would have waited. Too late now.....

So "smart" it's dumb!
I have had the S10 for six months. Everything about this robot vacuum is great except the "smart" part. I need a vacuum that goes under skirted furniture. There is two inches clearance between the skirts and the carpet. My previous Eufy and updated Roombas (with the lidar knobs on top) determined the skirts were a wall and would not go under furniture, so I was happy to find the roborock with its "eye" below skirts level. That, along with the increased suction power and efficient mopping abilities is what sold me. Unfortunately, the skirts are still obstacles. I pinned them all up and has Samantha do a mapping run. She went under all the furniture and all was well. I kept the skirts pinned up for several days so her maps could settle in. Her mapping feature is accurate, although once you have named a room, you can't delete the name or reuse it for a different room. I disabled as much of the smart obstacle avoidance as possible, but as soon as the skirts went down, she refused to go past them. I know she knows the area is open, but, no go. I tried setting the sofa as a zone, but she merely vacuumed around the perimeter and treated the skirts like walls. That said, she does a good job vacuuming, and mopping is reasonable for everyday maintenance. I have to manually deep clean and polish every few months. She is very easy to clean, and although I know this will probably give the manufacturers heart failure, the brushes, water and waste tanks, filters, and all detachable parts of the dock come out squeaky clean with the dishwasher auto cycle (TOP RACK-NO DRYING HEAT). The waste tank can get quite stinky, but the dishwasher cycle removes all odors. Overall, I gave it a 4 star rating because I expected more than status quo performance from a unit this pricey. She mops and vacuums well. She is quiet, seems to be well made, and can pick up pretty much whatever is in her path. She would be five stars if she would overcome her aversion to skirted furniture.

Quiet, Thorough Reliable true time saver
Truly trouble free floor maintenance. Vacuums then mops returning to dock to clean mop, empty vacuum or recharge. It then returns to cycle. This robot is reliable and durable through many uses. As long as your floors are clutter free it is highly efficient. I have had many machines but this bot is hands down the best and quietist.

The best of the best. This is quiet, thorough, and really gets into the corners.
I am having a love hate relationship with these machines. I have one that works amazingly well, operates as it should and makes me love it more than my other appliances. But... I have a very large home, and one vacuum is not enough, so I decided to purchase a second one and have not been as lucky. My first one cleans so well that you would have thought a human with an eye for detail did the cleaning. The deep mopping function is a life saver, and frankly, this robot can out clean me when it comes to getting my floors looking brand new. The issues I have had with the other 10Rs have all been different. For example, one of the machines made a terrible clunking noise and couldn't find its way back to the base. The second one would go out to map, say it was saving the map, and then not save the map. It also wouldn't stay connected to the wifi and I would find it parked in random places in my house. It didn't matter how many factory resets I performed, it just wouldn't function properly. So, I just purchased my third additional robot and I am hoping that the third time is a charm. I know how great these machines can be because I have another one that is working as it should. UPDATE: Okay, I have been having an incredibly good experience with my third machine which has been in use for a few months. It must have just been a fluke that there were a couple that had issues. I am currently using two of these 10Rs (each one has half of the house), and my floors are always clean and look amazing. If you are like me, and you like your floors spotless all of the time, I highly recommend this vacuum. Maintenance is easy, the quality is exceptionally high, their customer service is responsive and helpful. I am actually thinking about adding another one just so that I don't have as much wear on the two 10Rs that I have now.

Customer Service to the Rescue! The "Cadillac" of Vacuum/Mopping Robots!
UPDATE: Customer service got back to me and they've been great! I think this has been a learning curve for all of us. They do back their products which is great. I have tried a couple robots since I returned mine and man...while they were cheaper and the quality was noticeably worse. I checked out the Dreame X50 and no comparison. It's a lighter robot which affects mopping quality and their roller system does not work with dog hair. I have 3 golden retrievers and it was unable to empty the dust bin. It left clumps of dog hair around the house. And it never fully picked up an area. When I packed up the X50 to return it the dust bag was completely emptied despite using it for over a week! I had to manually empty the dust bin every time on the robot. However the Saros 10R with its unique roller system truly does work! Other robots continually get the rollers plugged. But not with the 10R. Another feature the Saros 10R is superior is the navigational system. It just runs smarter! It doesn't bump into things as it navigates to and from a selected room. I decided to give the Saros 10R another try for it is the Cadillac of vacuum/mopping robots. They have multiple obstacle avoidence settings and I'll leave it on the sensitive setting. I avoiding dog accidents will always be a challenge for any robot. But in sensitive mode is definitely helping! Original Post: Wow stay away from Roborock. At the end I'll include a copy of the email they sent in resolving this and let you be the judge. I had the Saros 10R for less than a week. I loved it and it worked great....until it didn't. We have a small older dog who sometimes makes mistakes. Not often but sometimes. But you'd think with the brand new navigational system that Roborock brags with the Saros 10R it could surely detect pet waste and avoid it? WRONG! It was vacuuming and mopping my kitchen when I got an error message that the rollers were jammed. I turned it over and the bottom was covered with pet waste. I had to take everything apart to clean it including the dust bin. It was terrible. And when I put it back on the dock it would not start. I tried resetting it and nothing. I call customer support but with this being so new they don't know much about It and have to escalate it to their support team. Not once will you receive a call from the support team, only an email. And you would think they'd realize their machine made a mistake and would eagerly try to remedy the issue. But not the case....apparently it's the pets fault for being old and having an accident and not their "sophisticated" navigational system that can't recognize pet waste! They reply that they will only replace this unit one time as a courtesy and won't do it again in the future. Needless to say I informed them they didn't need to give me the courtesy for I returned the unit. I'm going to try the Dreame X50 and hope it works better. Here’s a copy of their email they sent in resolving this issue: “Hi, Thank you for reaching out. We’d like to clarify that the Saros 10R is not advertised as having pet waste avoidance, and typically, damage caused by such incidents is not covered under warranty. However, we have escalated your case to our supervisor, and they have approved a one-time replacement of your damaged device with a brand new unit as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that if a similar situation occurs again, we will not be able to offer the same consideration. We will provide you with a shipping label to return the damaged device. Once we receive the returned unit, we will ship the replacement device to you as soon as possible. If you would like to proceed, kindly provide your full U.S. address, and we’ll get the process started. Best regards, Roborock Support”
