These timers are easy to set, have a loud "times up" alert, and can stand on their own or attach to a steel surface with a strong magnet. The display is good-sized and easy to read. They have separate minute and second buttons for setting the elapsed time needed. Very simple and intuitive. Four stars instead of five due to the lack of a clock function. I got used to seeing the time of day on my previous kitchen timers (which these replaced) which is a feature I miss.
