A headlamp rugged enough for adventurers and maintenance technicians!
I have been a Princetontec fan for many years. I use a headlamp for my job for at least a third of my day. I like the sturdy construction of all of their headlamps but the Remix Pro takes it up a notch while still maintaining lightweight. It's featherweight is mostly due to it using a CR 123 cell. This battery platform is worth it for a daily use headlamp due to the huge array of rechargeable lithium ion cells out there. The 3 LEDs have two brightness modes and the single large LED has two as well. Tilt adjustments are firm and due to the design, it appears that flopping won't be a concern when this unit sees significant wear and abuse.

Simple, reliable, does the job in 99% of conditions
This is much better than the headlamps with dimmers, cyclers and multiple controls. When you need light, this has it. The red light comes on first, then with a longer press the white light. 150 lumens is good enough for 95% of tasks - and the battery life is great. I use Eneloop rechargeable AAA batteries in this. I use it in the deserts of Utah, the back country of New York, on camping missions, and for work when I get to stick my head in dark places to fix something...

All about that red LED!
I've owned a number of headlamps. I use them for sailboat racing at night. White light blinds crewmates and ruins night vision. This headlamp has the brightest red light in any offering I've seen. The Black Diamond does have a significantly brighter white light, but its red light is so wimpy that it's practically worthless. If red is your primary light, this Princeton Tec Remix Pro is the one for you. The red is equally good on the AAA version, but this version feels lighter, which is more comfortable when wearing for a long time.

Love the features
High & low beams, red & white light and adjustable angle. This is an excellent head light. I have been using it the entire time on the A.T. (currently just over 1600 miles completed) and am just running into its first problem. Occasionally it will not turn on. Lightly hitting it into my palm resolves the issue. This leads me to believe the incredibly wet & humid conditions we've experienced this season has started creating a film on the battery contacts and the vibration from hitting my palm scrapes enough off to create an electrical connection and it starts working again.Overall an excellent light

Princeton tech makes a Quality product.
Princeton tech makes a Quality product. It's NOT a cheap China knockoff. I use this all the time in work or play and it NEVER fails. I love on a sailboat full time and it's an essential tool for me. I've always bought the Remix model because having the red light is perfect to not ruin night vision. Apparently there are different models of Remix as the latest one I bought did NOT have a red light. My fault, should have read the discription better. Either way I will continue to buy head lights from Princeton Tec because they build a high quality product made right here in USA !

The best?
Excellent. They were designed for the Army; the availabe Army version uses a single lithium cell, which lasts a very long time. (If you have a fresh Li cell there is no need to carry a spare.) One sort-of problem, they have a constant voltage circuit (at least the Army version), which will maintain full brightness until near the end. The light goes quickly when it does. However if you leave it off for a minute or longer, you can get a little more light to get you back to a spare, especially if you use the smaller bulbs. It has two kinds of bulbs; three small and economical bulbs, used together, and one larger and very bright one, which throws an impressive beam. Very versatile.

Bright, Versatile Headlamp
I had a Princeton Tec Byte that I loved for years which finally bit the dust. This has been a great replacement - it's even brighter, and doesn't have the Byte's issue of draining the battery while it's turned off. The red LEDs are great as well. My only minor complaint is that, if you have the white LED on one brightness setting and want to change it, you have to turn it off and cycle through the settings to get back to the one you want. Not a big deal, though. Still a great buy.

Don't buy cheaper head lamps
This is the third head lamp I have bought. The first 2 were jokes! This has a very bright light and so far it is going strong after a considerable amount of usage with the original batteries. It's simple to use which matters. It's also very small. I carry it in my jacket pocket and use it when I need to see well.I heard this company has military contracts.
