Great product and great customer service! The app is easy to use and set up, the remote is very responsive, and the device itself generally works great. When I did recently run into an issue where it stopped turning on properly, I called Hohem's customer service; they picked up quickly, diagnosed the issue easily, and when we determined it could not be fixed on my end, promptly sent me a replacement. I very much appreciated them easily honoring the warranty without trying to find the "gotcha" reason it was somehow exempt from warranty coverage, like you often run into. They even worked with me to get my replacement sooner so that I would have it for the project I was currently working on. It was something they didn't have to do, and I think it really shows they care about their customers and providing great customer service.Overall, the product works great, and when problems did arise, they quickly, easily, and kindly did all they could to make it right!

The hohem iSteady X3 SE Gimbal Stabilizer is an exceptional choice for smooth smartphone videography and offers incredibly good value for the price. I had a little trouble setting this up at first, but after spending about an hour working through the balancing steps and app setup, it became much easier to operate.The effort is entirely worth it, as it features noticeably good gimbal response compared to my other devices, delivering fluid and stable tracking shots. Love love love for videos. Keeps the camera steady and keeps the videos from being shaky. I like that you can control the motion of the camera and flip from vertical to horizontal. I’m removing one star because it fits on the buttons so you have to really play with it so it’s not pressing your side buttons. It’s not lightweight but not heavy either. Great quality. I purchased the Hohem iSteady X3 SE Gimbal Stabilizer for my iPhone with the expectation that it would provide reliable stabilization and be backed by a solid warranty. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing.After a relatively short period of use, the gimbal’s motors began to fail and no longer operated as they should. Since the product was still within the warranty period, I contacted Hohem customer support expecting a straightforward warranty resolution.Instead, I was told that I would need to pay the shipping costs to send the defective unit back to them, and in return they would replace it with a demo unit. While I understand that warranty replacements are not always brand-new products, I expected at least a properly refurbished replacement rather than a used demonstration model.The product itself worked reasonably well when it was functioning properly, but a warranty is only as good as the company’s willingness to stand behind its products. Being asked to pay out of pocket to return a defective item under warranty and then receiving a demo unit as the replacement left me feeling undervalued as a customer.Based on my experience, I would think twice before purchasing another Hohem product. The next time I’m in the market for a smartphone gimbal, I’ll spend the extra money on a brand with a stronger reputation for quality and customer support. A company’s response when something goes wrong is just as important as the product itself, and unfortunately Hohem fell short of my expectations.

I love it now my shots are more stable, I can use it to record videos with the cell phone walking or without an assistant and the difference is noticeable, it is light, easy to transport and the remote control is very practical. The battery lasts long enough for my recordingsIf you love to record this is perfect, you will notice a big difference in your shots

Pretty cool, but with some real flaws.Pros:Build seems solid enough, not luxury per se, but not horribly cheap feeling.The variety of modes gives a lot of handy options for different uses of the stabilizer.Cons:The detachable remote is neat, but the record button (as well as the tracking feature) only works in the Hohem app, which is a shame because the app reeks of cheap Chinese slop.Want to record 4k 60fps ProRes footage or charge your phone while using the gimbal as even just a tripod? Good luck. USB cables impact the weight enough to throw the whole balance of the gimbal off, whereupon it starts beeping and freaking out.I would have an issue while holding it where the weight of my phone caused it the movable part of the phone holder (used for stabilization) to fall backwards, making me have to pop it back up. This happens quite frequently, and is very frustrating. I think the iPhone 15 pro max is too big/heavy for this phone. Even when removing my case (basically a necessity), it still doesn’t look like my phone gets as snug in the grip as it should.I have hardly used it after the first two weeks because these issues are just annoying enough to sour the whole experience, and if I’d thought to do so before, I probably would have returned it.Never had a gimbal before, so I’m not sure if these are common issues or not, but yeah, this thing did not live up to my expectations.

A friend recommended this iSteady smartphone gimbal, and it arrived just two days after I ordered it—I couldn’t wait to unbox it! The all-black design feels solid and premium in the hand. I mounted my phone on it, but the moment I let go, it flopped down—gave me quite a scare! Turns out I hadn’t powered it on yet and was basically treating it like a regular selfie stick. Once I pressed the power button, the phone smoothly rotated into position—so elegant! Big thumbs-up for that moment alone.I tested it by shooting a short video and intentionally added some shakes. To my surprise, the phone followed the movements effortlessly, keeping the footage perfectly stable and smooth. Amazing! I used to rely on a simple selfie stick, always afraid to move because any motion would make the video jittery. My phone’s built-in stabilization helped a little, but it was far from enough. With this iSteady gimbal, I can finally move freely when filming!It also has a center-lock feature—the button sits right under your index finger, and pressing it feels just like pulling a trigger. Once locked, the subject stays perfectly centered in the frame, which is great for circular or tracking shots. There’s also an orange dial under my thumb; after connecting via Bluetooth, you can zoom in and out just by rolling it. Super convenient! That completely solves the problem of shaky footage caused by touching the screen to zoom.Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed and very practical product. There are still a few more features I haven’t explored yet—but that’ll be for next time!
