Fun drone, easy to fly, even for a newb
I had no experience trying to fly a drone prior to getting this Simrex x800 drone toy. The tldr - I'm hooked. I spent a few minutes examining the user's manual, which is brief but thorough enough. Pairing the remote, and installing and connecting the app were very straightforward. Flying was a breeze, in particular thanks to the optional "auto" modes for takeoff and landing. One button press, and the drone starts and hovers at about 1 meter. When you press the auto-land function, it gently sets itself down. Once lifted, the remote has controls to raise/lower, turn left/right, move forward/backward/left/right. After a few minutes, it's pretty easy to get the hang of. The photos and videos this drone takes are great - actually much better quality than I was expecting, given the price of the drone. One note: when you read in the description that it has an "adjustable 90-degree camera lens", that's true. However, you adjust it while you're holding the drone in your hand. While in flight, there's no remote control function to change the camera angle. That's probably obvious to more experienced fliers, but it wasn't to me. The battery life felt short to me...but you really do get the ~20 minutes they advertise. The problem is, it's so much fun to fly, that it *feels* like 5 minutes! It's no wonder you you don't get more time - the battery is necessarily feather-light. Have no fear however. Since Simrex includes two batteries, you can be charging one while flying with the other! Another nice touch is that Simrex also included a number of spare prop blades. I assume this is the part most often lost or damaged in a crash. So far I haven't needed a spare, but I'm glad they are included. Bottom line is this toy is loads of fun, and I can't wait to get it outside more. Snow has arrived where I live, and I'll probably wait until we get a little warmer weather before taking it outside again. I see that as I write this, there's an associated $10 coupon. I felt like it was a great deal when I got it, but at almost 20% less, it that much better. So much fun for so little money!

Great drone with video for this price point
My husband who is experienced with drones and has a fleet of them for his technology students also tested this alongside me who had little drone experience. First we both appreciate they give replacement parts, and extra battery with charging cord(you supply the charging box), tiny screwdriver, and a phone mount and good directions for operating the drone with the controller. When operating with the controller I experienced no issues in learning how to fly one for the first time. My husband who is experienced felt it was a pretty good drone for the price point when using the controller. When we switched to the phone as a controller in order to utilize the 1080p camera, we had issues with it disconnecting from the app from time to time. However, when it's connected it works well with pretty good video quality once you learn how to use the controls via your phone. I think with a bit more practice I would really enjoy and improve my skills. He would definitely recommend it but would like to see improved app. I will be gifting this to a middle school age kid and think he's really going to enjoy it. He's had a very small cheaper drone but wanted one with video capabilities. This is a good starting point. This thing is VERY durable because I flew it outside(it can fly as high as many tree tops) and hit trees, buildings and limbs in my first few attempts. It definitely took some hard hits and didn't scratch or break.

Easy to Fly For Beginner!
This is my first drone so I can't compare it to others but my experience with this item has been superb. The instructions were clear and the drone was easy to set up. Took a few minutes to install the optional blade guards and I read through the operating instructions as I charged both batteries. The drone feels like it is built well. I like the folding wings which make it compact and easy to store. Having never flown a drone before, I made sure to use this in my living room with lots of open space. I used the auto launch button on the controller to take off and land the drone until I was used to the controls. The drone will launch itself and then hover about 3-4 feet from the ground, waiting for you take take control with the joysticks. Pressing the button again will make the drone land itself softly. I also enabled headless mode which made the drone steer in the direction I moved the joystick no matter which direction the front of the drone was facing. The drone reacted as expected to the controls and is easy to steer. I did crash once when I got too close to a wall but neither the drone nor the wall suffered any damage. The battery lasted over 20 minutes of in-flight time which I thought was excellent. The batteries are easy to swap and I was flying again in under a minute. I experimented with the different speeds on my second flight and found the drone to be faster and more responsive on speed level 3. I took the drone outside to try out the auto flip function which worked flawlessly. I tried out the app and the video quality was very good. All in all, I'm very pleased with this drone and I think it is an excellent value.

Great starter drone
In my testing of this drone, even inside of the house, it’s able to stay within a 1 square foot area while hovering. If you get too close to a wall, the draft will make it unstable, however. In my use, I flew it probably around 200 feet high and around 800 feet from where I was standing. One of my favorite features is being able to control the drone from the perspective of the controller rather than the direction. The drone is facing this made it significantly easier as an inexperienced drone user. It says that the battery will last for around 15 minutes, however I had slightly longer fly time than that. There is no warning for when the battery runs out. It kind of just slowly goes down to the ground wherever it is. The picture quality on this is fairly poor. I would say it’s something around 480 however it is listed as 1080. There is an app that you connect to allow you to see through the drone. However, the app itself is a fairly poor quality, but it does work and function. Well the user interface is just not up-to-date with most other companies at this point. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic starter drone. It allowed me to get used to flying one and certainly makes me want to purchase a higher end one at some point in the future. This would be great for anyone starting out.

Fun for the whole family!
I recently bought the SIMREX X800 drone for my young nephew for Christmas, and it’s been an absolute hit! This drone strikes the perfect balance between fun and functionality, making it an excellent choice for beginners of all ages. My nephew, who’s new to drones, quickly got the hang of the controls thanks to its intuitive design and simple setup process. Watching him confidently fly it and pull off 360° flips has been so rewarding, it’s clear this drone was made with young users in mind. What surprised me even more is how much fun I’ve had with it as an adult! The SIMREX X800 is not just a toy, it’s also a fantastic entry level drone for adults looking to get into flying. The headless mode, one-key takeoff/landing, and altitude hold features make it easy for anyone to start, even if you’ve never touched a drone before. It’s a great way for parents, aunts, or uncles like me to bond with their kids while learning a new skill. The stability during flight is remarkable for such a compact and lightweight drone, and its foldable design makes it incredibly convenient to carry around. My nephew loves taking it to the park, and I’ve even taken it for a spin myself. The battery life is solid for its price range, and having an extra battery on hand means the fun can last even longer. Whether you’re buying it for a child, a teenager, or even an adult who wants to learn the basics of drone flying, the SIMREX X800 is an incredible choice. It’s affordable, durable, and delivers so much value for its price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable starter drone that’s fun for the whole family!

Great for Christmas gift
If you’re new to the world of drones, this entry-level model is an excellent starting point. Designed with beginners in mind, it offers an intuitive flying experience, stable flight performance, and a budget-friendly price tag. Here’s what stands out: Pros: 1. Ease of Use: Equipped with features like one-key takeoff/landing and headless mode, this drone is incredibly beginner-friendly. Even first-time flyers will feel comfortable navigating it. 2. Stable Flight: Thanks to built-in gyroscopes and altitude hold, the drone maintains a steady hover, making it ideal for capturing smooth footage or learning the basics of piloting. 3. Compact Design: Its lightweight and foldable design make it portable and easy to carry around. 4. Decent Camera: Many models in this category offer a 720p or 1080p camera. While it won’t compete with professional drones, it’s perfect for casual photography and social media content. 5. Affordable Price: This drone provides great value without breaking the bank. Cons: 1. Limited Battery Life: about 15 min flight time. 2. Short Control Range: The control distance is modest (usually 100-150 meters), which might feel restrictive for some users. 3. No Advanced Features: Features like obstacle avoidance or follow-me mode are often absent, but this is reasonable for an entry-level product. Verdict: This entry-level drone is an excellent choice for beginners or casual users who want to experience drone flying without committing to a high-end purchase. While it lacks advanced features, its ease of use, affordability, and reliable performance make it a solid buy for those just starting.

Excelente pero la bateria dura demasiado poco, no dura 5 minutos.
Muy buen dron para los niños lo malo es que la batería solo dura como 5 minutos.

Great beginner drone for kids and adults!
I bought the Simrex X800 drone as a Christmas present for my son. He had a few drones picked out in his Amazon “cart” that seemed to be much more focused as a toy. I came across this one because it seemed to have better features compared to the others he selected and was a little more geared towards a starter drone and not just a cheap toy drone. He really wanted a drone with a camera and one you could use a phone with attached to the controller. This had that and seemed to be at a great price. When he opened this one up on Christmas, he couldn’t wait to try it out! This drone is a lot of fun and easy to setup. I installed the Simrex app on my phone and was able to connect easily without issue. I showed my son how to turn on the drone and connect the controller but I did help with the app startup and connection. The camera’s quality is actually better than expected. For this price range, you typically get 720p but this definitely looked 1080p as listed. We have flown the drone a few days and it is a blast. One of the days was fairly windy, so it did struggle to maintain a perfect position. This would be expected as wind impacts even more expensive drones. Having 2 batteries is nice. We get about 20 minutes of fly time for each battery. This does vary a little depending on aggressive you fly the drone. The controls are pretty subtle which I like for my son. What I mean is this drone isn’t too fast where it can get away from you pretty quickly if you don’t know what you are doing. I would say this is a great beginner’s drone as it gets you used to drone controls. My son did want it to zip around like the racing drones so he was a little disappointed at first. I told him this drone is more for fun and taking cool videos and photos. I showed him the flip mode and he was having the drone do front flips, back flips, and side flips all over the place. That is by far his favorite part. We have used the emergency stop function a few times and it has worked great! It has saved us from getting stuck in trees or crashing into solar panel roofs. You just have to make sure you really want the drone to stop because it will immediately shut off and come crashing down. We take the drone to a big grass park nearby so we are not concerned with the crash landings. It seems to hold up just fine landing in the grass. The are a few cons that I can think of… (1) The battery life, which is pretty much an issue with a lot of budget drones, at least you get 2 with this one! (2) The controller’s phone mounting adapter. The mounting clamp for the phone can be a little precarious which makes me worried as my son is running around chasing the drone that is flying through the air. It hasn’t fallen out yet, but I feel like it might just be a matter of time since the controller is so light and the phone is so heavy. I would take caution while using the controller with the phone and with kids holding the controller. Not a deal breaker if you use this responsibly, as you should with all drones. Overall I think this is a great beginner’s drone to get into the hobby and not have to worry about destroying expensive equipment as you learn. I am very pleased with it and I know my son loves it!
