A Joy to Sharpen😃
The Xarilk sharpening system is an excellent bit of kit. I looked at other makers before deciding on this particular brand. It does all you want compared with the top class systems costing fives times more. Ok engineering standards are not as precise but with a little fine tuning (check out YouTube videos) it becomes an excellent sharpener on a budget price. With additional parts such as rod stops, angle finder it sharpens chef and pocket knives to razor sharp factory condition. I was lucky to buy “as new” from Amazon warehouse and was not disappointed-like brand new. Customer service has been excellent on asking advice and when I had issues with some extra diamond plates I bought from Xarlick, they were replaced immediately. Can’t fault “Mr Xarilk” I thoroughly recommend this sharpener.

Happy
Really easy to setup, it doesn't take much space of storage and easy to repeat sharping angles. The only downside is the screws to secure the blades are sticking out too much for sharp angles like under 15°, so for that you'll need to replace them or shave them down

Sturdy, accurate and serviceable
It's well machined and works well, mine has minor stuffs on one of the clamps but they're likely to get scuffed in use anyway, everything was tight and fairly well adjusted with only a slight issue with the locking lever of the blade flipping mechanism being very hard to open and close, the grub screw holding the clamp mount was left a little loose to allow the locking lever to be able to open and close but it takes careful adjustment to get the tension right so it's both usable and keeps the clamp rattle free, this grub screw being loose isn't ideal but may be a good thing as long as the thread isn't damaged by the grub screw being loose as it allows the tension to be adjusted to compensate for inevitable wear on the locking lever after a lot of use, I might swap out the grub screw for a longer one to engage more of the thread in the aluminium to minimise the risk of damage, the system is very easy to setup and use and allows for easy stone thickness compensation and seems to maintain the shapening angle when the blade is flipped perfectly, the clamp setup allows for a wide range of blade sizes to be sharpened with enough clearance to allow for lower angles to be achieved It's a very sturdy setup and should last a long time, a little dry lubricant in the pivot ball and on the sliding rod helps reduce friction and should further extend it's working life and with the way it's built it should last a very long time even with heavy use At a fraction of the cost of anything comparable to it's level of accuracy and construction I'd say it's a very good setup for the price, from what I've seen of other sharpening systems and reviews from others with more experience than myself it's well worth the investment

Makes sharpening knives a breeze.
Truly a great price kit, allowing a novice like my self to restore my camping knife to its former glory, and several kitchen knives also. I would recommend either screw or clamp down to a bench before use for safety.

Great product.
I really like this tool. Ive used whetstones, V shaped sharpeners and roller sharpeners. This is by far the best option for me. This sharpener is really effective and easy to use, its easy to get a nice uniform edge. It works really fast and relatively accurately. The only improvement I would make is to include a some finer than 2000.

Easy to use sharpnet
I have had a couple of knife setting sharpers off Amazon bit this one which is a copy of the expensive Russian system I find this one is easy to set up and does not move once set. My only grumble is that it only comes with three diamond sharpening stones. I have now bought a set off Ebay from 280 grit to 2000 grit. I use it to sharpen my expensive penknives as well as my Kitchen knives.

Does the job nicely
Very pleased. Need a digital level box to be able to repeat angles, but most users will have one anyway.

Fairly good product seemingly let down by poor/no quality control
Fairly good product let down by poor quality control. This review could/should have easily been a four star...but. I waited nearly a year to but this Gen 3 sharpener. I bought various accessories in anticipation. When I received it it had a few minor marks and scratches (it looked like it had been used already) but I was so excited to finally have it I overlooked this. I used it a couple of times but realised that the clamp for the swivel to turn the knife around was very stiff so I looked online and found I could adjust this. I adjusted it and it was fine. I then noticed that the clamp for locking the angle was very tight at some angles and completely loose at others (meaning although locked the angle could move freely) so again I looked online and found that there are two grub screws to set the tension for this clamp against the gear teeth. Well, they were so tight that the top screw could not be undone and quickly chewed up upon trying. The bottom was very tight but was moveable. I am very disappointed in the seemingly low quality control and materials used I think that this should be revised and each unit should be checked and tuned before sale. I will purchase again and hope that the next unit I received will be thoroughly checked and adjusted accordingly!

This is my first fixed-angle sharpener, though I’m not new to sharpening. I have a WorkSharp Ken Onion blade grinder and a bunch of diamond stones for freehand sharpening. This system allows you to achieve extremely sharp edges, sharper than I’ve managed with other systems, with a minimal learning curve. It’s not without its flaws as a fixed system, but if you want sharp knives, pair it with some high-quality diamond stones, and you’re set. There are a couple of things I wish were included and offered as a package deal: 1) The angle is infinitely adjustable within its design limits, which is cool, but I doubt most of us care to sharpen to 15.26 degrees. In addition to the adjustable angles, I wish there was a detent system or some way to repeatedly lock into common angles (10, 13, 15, 17, 20, etc.) without needing a digital angle meter. I also think they should offer a complete package ready to go out of the box, including more stones, a digital angle meter, a strop, rod stops, and their new center Y clamp. (Speaking of the center clamp, if you’re doing pocket knives, do yourself a favor and get it ASAP.) That would really make this system 100% ready to go right out of the box. Speaking of stones, I can’t compare them to other stones for fixed-angle sharpeners, but they have worked well enough so far on 8 different knives, all of which are 20CV, M390, and M4. The only minor gripe I have with this item is that a couple of the screws needed adjusting (flip mechanism and angle clamp), which was extremely simple, which is why it’s a gripe. If it’s so simple to fix, why couldn’t it have been done at the factory? But once again, it was very simple and didn’t require any special tools to adjust to my liking. Overall, as I mentioned above, I think this is a great system if you add some higher-quality stones. I’m not really sure what a more expensive sharpener would buy you. I forgot to mention that I had a small issue with the regular clamps that came with it, and Xarilk was extremely responsive and shipped me new clamps. It took a couple of weeks to get, but they took care of me right away.
