Good sound but I'm not totally blown away.....
Well made and weighty speaker. Easy connection to devices. Good battery life but doesn't have the oomph i was expecting based on the marketing. Nice and convenient to use camping etc, but the sound wouldn't replace even a low end hi-fi set up.

Heavy duty speaker
This speaker is a beast. Definitely recommend if you like music genres like reggae. Bass is really deep, rich and heavy. App is really good although the custom mode is not as good as the other modes 1&2 for me. I like the DJ feature as you have some sound effects that add a bit of fun to your experience. Quality looking speaker, that you would expect from a brand like Sony. Overall I would definitely recommend this speaker, especially if you like “bass”.

Super impressive and great battery life
Really impressed with the build quality and sound. I have an ULT 7 but wanted something a bit more portable. The sound quality is exceptional with good separation and clarity. Punches above its weight for bass quality. Only negativities I haven’t managed to pair it with the ULT 7 but that’s not too much of an issue. Would completely recommend this exceeds expectations and I’ve found it suitable for small performance venues as packs plenty of Power.

Works with non-BT music keyboards. Ridiculous clanging sound when switching between ULT modes.
Works beautifully with my non-Bluetooth Yamaha keyboard (PSR-E383) which has fairly puny 2 x 2.5W speakers, thanks to the 3.5mm audio in jack. Keyboard sounds nice 'n' butch now with enough oomph for busking. Agree with Mr FF. Whose bright idea was it to generate a very loud clanging sound when changing between the ULT settings?? Hideous and unnecessary racket 😡. Excellent speaker. Totally pleased.

Great sound poor battery
Great bass boosted sound only negative is the battery doesn't seem to last too long

It gets loud and bassy
Its a bit heavy (comes with a shoulder strap) but that heft is how loud and how great quality it is. In summary, you can be very scared to turn it up. Its that good.

Great stuff. It’s built like a tank, and it looks great. Sounds absolutely amazing for its size. I would choose this over any JBL on any day.

Great sound quality 👌
After using a bose mini 2 for around 6 years i fancied a change so I bought this Sony ult field 5. First thing was the the size it's rather large for a portable speaker that aside its a lovely unit and the sound quality is awesome but beware the battery life is no where near the 25hrs stated in its description but that,s with the lights and ultra base on but that is no issue if used plugged into the mains, all in all a great speaker that's sounds great and very loud 😀 👍
