I have read some reviews that disparage this garlic press because of the pressure needed to squeeze fresh garlic. I completely sympathize with those purchasers. But that’s not my experience. I always keep a bag of peeled garlic in my freezer, which, after being crushed, sliced or pressed and then cooked, is indistinguishable from fresh garlic. My Leifheit press arrived yesterday. Before heading to bed, I moved a few frozen cloves to the refrigerator to thaw. Tonight, after slicing off the dry tip, I pressed them. They slid through the press leaving only a thin, translucent membrane on my cutting board. A knife, slid along the inside of the press removed the pressed garlic . This was the easiest pressing I have ever performed. Setting the kitchen faucet to spray cleared the holes leaving the press clean (but I threw it in the dishwasher anyway). So if you insist on using fresh garlic, this may not be for you. But if you, like I, keep a bag of peeled frozen garlic in your freezer, this is for you. You will find it the easiest when pressing and even more importantly, the easiest when cleaning.

Great product

I didn't buy this on Amazon, but I am compelled to write a review because after about 4 uses it broke. When I say it broke after 4 uses, I mean I probably mashed a total of 1 1/2 cloves of garlic with it. I am a woman with average strength and it broke right in my hand. One of metal supports on the side of the handle came off and caused the black part of the handle to break while I was using it. There is no repairing it. Too bad, it worked very nicely.

Not convenient I use.

Meesterlijke eenvoud in gebruik. Hiervoor altijd een knijpende versie gebruikt. Was goed, doch niet zo eenvoudig te gebruiken.

Découvert en achetant un shaker de la même marque allemande, c'est une très bonne surprise : prise en main du bracelet très costaud pratique, on écrase une gousse à la fois, et on récolte avec un couteau la pulpe qui a traversé la grille ! Ensuite je passe sous l'eau et je réutilise autant de fois que je veux- Le must, j'ai testé SANS EPLUCHER les gousses, et ça marche en pesant de son poids dessus c'est super ! la peau reste de l'autre côté, la pulpe est séparée et passe en vinaigrette, en huile à l'ail, en cuisson...Inutile de dire que tout est facile et rapide désormais avec l'ail et j'en suis ravie TRES BON OUTIL !
