Start-X Remote Start Kit for Ford F-150/250/350, Expedition & Other Models

Best ever addition to my truck. It took literally 15 minutes to install most of which was spent keeping the wiring hidden. It works flawlessly and I can use my existing key fob(big plus). Great design and engineering. Highly recommended!!! Can't say enough good things.

Really cannot say anything bad about this unit - I purchase the "lock-unlock-lock" unit. Installed it on a 2016 F150 XLT... and yes, it only takes about 10-minutes... probably 5-minutes if I were to do another one(1). The most difficult part of this was removing the large black connector on the back side of the OBD. I did an extra step by dismounting the OBD removing two(2) machine nuts that hold it in place. I believe it is an 8-mm nut, but I used a 5/16" deep socket which is the same size. Once the OBD was free and clear, it was much easier to remove the large black connector. After that, installation was simple. I did have the installation video on my phone, which made it so much easier than the written instructions. After completion, it worked on the first attempt and every start after. As far as where to stow away the unit and additional wiring length; I used electrical tape to bundle it and found an area above the emergency brake - just a large enough pocket to hold it in place without using any of the zip ties. I gave this 5-stars, but would really give it 4.75. The only "minor", and I emphasize "minor", draw back is the environmental controls - particularly heat this time of year (winter with morning temps in the low teens to zero). This is a common statement people have made. This pickup has manually controlled heat and AC. I leave the fan and heat on high when I shut it off at night. The remote start only allows the fan to run at half speed, but the heat is still on high. However, once I put the key in and turn it to on, hot air is blowing on high. So, you just have to put up with this minor thing. Overall, this is a great product for the money. Now trying to find a Start-X 2.0 so I can remote start it with my phone.

Super easy took me all about 10 minutes stated my truck went to check in inside nice and cool with the ac running so if you're car or truck doesn't have it easy easy install

Alright I installed this one on a 2014 Ford Fusion SE. Installation took max 15 minutes. It took me longer to plug in the device than to program it just because I didn’t want to remove the OBD bolts cause I was lazy. The fit was perfect. Quality was pretty good. I was close to going with another option but this one had the best reviews and sales for $10 more. The range is pretty good for the most part as long as there’s no big obstructions. For example, my room is in the back of the house so it’s a little harder to reach but once I walk down the hallway, it’ll start the car. The remote start is pretty responsive. There is a slight delay, but that is expected. The functionality overall is pretty 10 out of 10 so far. I think it’s pretty cool that it’ll turn on the last climate controls you had left on. So for anybody who works early mornings in the cold, just make sure to put your heat on the last time you drive your car and you’ll hop in a warm car. If you’re skeptical, don’t be give it a shot! Don’t feel intimidated. I barely used any tools.

The install was super easy, although there's not much room behind the OBDII connector in a 14' Fusion. Take your time pulling the connector out and don't pull the factory harness by the cables (or any connector/harness for that matter). Unfortunately the module I received was defective, no fault of the manufacturer/seller as it's gonna happen at some-point, it just happened to be me this time. The remote-start functionality worked but there was some issue with programming in which my car didn't like it being connected and illuminated my service light along with a few other oddities. The 'fix' was simple, I just disconnected the module and disconnected the car battery for 30min to 'reset' the computers. After contacting RemoteStartX via email, I provided the details of my issues and the troubleshooting steps I had already taken. They were quick to respond and immediately shipped out a replacement for me. I installed the replacement module and it works beautifully. I'm impressed by the product and furthermore by their customer service. Shout out to "B. Hirsch" who assisted me, I sincerely appreciate it. If you're looking for a remote-starter for your applicable Ford vehicle I behoove you to get this kit. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing, to know that they will take care of you in the unlikely event that an issue arises -is priceless. For context I'll also state that they were extremely surprised by the issues I described to them, they stated such things have never occurred before so it appears I was just super unlucky that time. Be sure to press the brake pedal if you stop the remote-start as it will start up again if you simply turn the key on then off. The brake sends a signal to the module to end the functionality. If you start driving after using the feature you will tap your brake anyways to start driving so there's no need to do anything after you reach your destination, simply turn the car off like normal. The included instructions are super simple and straight-forward, I dare say my grandmother could install this if the connector on my car was easier for her to get to. The included video is just a demonstration of how it works. Please don't mind the car that needs a bath or the fact that I'm not wearing shoes... It's Sunday... I gotta have my me-time before going back to work ;)

Easy to install works great program three keys very easily in two minutes. I don't know how long my engine will run yet that varies by what car you own. Would buy again so far.

Installation was absolutely easy. It seamlessly integrates right into the OBD port and uses the truck's native frequencies—the exact same ones your key fob uses—which means there's no extra frequency added that could be hijacked. It does not clog up the OBD. Asi was doing this i was also changing out the shift sellinoids, trans filter and fluid. Needed to use Forescan to reset transmission learning after. Forescan worked as usual. ​The security feature is top-notch; someone can't just get in the truck and drive away. If you hit the brake, it immediately turns off the truck and displays a warning on the screen stating that the alarm will go off if it's not keyed in. ​The only minor thing I wish is that it came with a USB port option for a different configuration. Instead of the "lock, unlock, lock" sequence to trigger it, I would have preferred a "lock, lock, lock" sequence, but I haven't quite figured that part out yet. Overall, a great product!

2020 Ford F250 Diesel by far the best remote start. i was able to program my OEM key fob. it was super easy and straight forward to install, it literally took me 15 minutes to install and program my control. i would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. super excited and stoked. lock unlock lock no honk and she fired right up

My wife got a 2023 Maverick Lariat with Lux package, but I think there was some confusion in ordering and changes in 2023 regarding remote start therefore did not get the remote start FOB. Even though can start with the Ford Pass app, it is still convenient to have ability to remote start with FOB... for example when I am doing the driveway and lots of snow, I cannot start the vehicle because my wife has the app. Sometimes the app doesn't work either. Installation was fairly simple, more time spent strapping the unit up securely out of the way since there I not much room in front of the seat to get under there. Note that this vehicle has push button start and this the instructions mention this option. I wish they would update this page and the product info to reflect that it works with 2022 and 2023 models, because the description and dates are a little outdated and feels like taking a risk ordering it. It starts with a couple seconds delay only and vehicle acts pretty much like a remote start does with no dash information and says press button to start vehicle. I did notice that if I press the Lock.Unlock,Lock sequence again it stops the vehicle, then trying the sequence again will just honk the horn and not start it. I need to enter the vehicle, press the vehicle start button, then press brake pedal and stop button, then it will start correctly afterwards. The manual actually mentions that the brake must be pressed or unexpected things may happen. I do not know what will happen if I remote start it and let it turn off on its own after 15 min and try to start again, but will try later on. I am taking a guess that it has an internal timer of 15 minutes that is also stopped when brake pedal is pressed, and I am interrupting this timer and it is getting confused when I am doing the sequence again.. .don't know for sure but others say theirs works for subsequent starts. I include awesome picture of unit sitting on floor before I tied it up under dash behind ODB port. I will say however that I had a scare installing... The first time I hooked it up I lost entire vehicle control after programming. The FOB wouldn't start it, and push button would not start vehicle, no dash lights etc. some system communication error message on console (can't remember what is was exactly) Even removing the device from the plugs on harness didn't help. I cannot describe the feeling going through my mind trying to explain to my Wife that I fried her brand new Maverick that she has been waiting months for... but after I unplugged the harness from ODB all was working again, so what a relief!!! Normaly I would just cut my losses at this point and return, but I decided to try again. I reinstalled the harness onto ODB, and vehicle is working correctly. So I attempted learning again and it works now. I believe I didn't have plugged in ODB harness securely the first attempt. So make sure you have the harness plugged in securely.

Facile a installer marche a merveille

Great product works great as advertise the installation video is great very easy to understand and it works exactly as they show as say Lock Unlock Lock it took me about 5 minutes to install it and test it. Price is also right for the product. Just wanted to add that same sequence to start the truck Lock Unlock Lock also turn it off after you start the truck and decided not to go or whatever you can do again Lock Unlock Lock and it will shot off the truck that way you don't have to go out to physically shot it off.

Install so simple took longer to zip tie the wires back . Works perfectly after 2 months
