The ankle-high design with the scoop back gives your Achilles tendon room to move freely providing necessary support without constriction. I'm confident when hiking, especially on steep inclines with a rugged surfaces, that I can rely on them to keep me safe from slipping or falling. I'm keeping a log of how many miles I walk in these boots and will be interested to see what their longevity is. So far I've covered over 60 miles in these boots and the tread on the soles hardly show any wear at all. These boots are also stylish and look great when I wear them. I receive compliments on them quite frequently. A great consideration is also the value for the money. For a mid-priced boot, they outperform boots I've paid nearly twice as much for.
