ECCO Men's Howell Tie Oxford

I am giving this Ecco Howell 3 stars not because it is not a good shoe. Rather, Ecco redefined what 5 stars is by making a 100% leather shoes with the lightest and most durable PU soles. In fact, the sole of your shoe is the soul of the shoe. When it fails the shoe is dead no matter what the condition of the rest of it is.This shoe has a well shaped sole that is very comfortable when walking. It has a wider toe box that is more comfortable to my EEE wide feet (wider than my Seawalkers). Its durability will depend how much solid polyurethane Vs foam is in the sole. So I give the shape, fit and appearance 5 stars.Unfortunately, this shoe is sold as a 100% leather shoe (on Amazon). It is not. I will argue that it is not made of shoe leather but rather fabric and foam lined fine glove leather. The inside of the shoe is lined with leather around the heal only (the part of the shoe you can see). The rest of the interior is fabric including the inner tongue. The in-sole is advertised as removable and it is not – it is glued in. The quality of the leather is very good but very thin and will not resist abrasions or tearing. In my opinion this is another example a great company moving their manufacturing operations to China to cut costs. I would rather pay the extra $30 and have a truly exceptionally made shoe.

I have fussy feet. I bought these to replace my now-discontinued Ecco Seawalkers, of which I've owned several pairs over the years. Howells are not nearly as comfortable. I can walk comfortably in Seawalkers all day; in Howells, my feet are sore and tired within an hour or two. For one, the Howell's sole is inferior. Also, I marked "somewhat narrow" but, more accurately, they are "too thin", making them tight across the instep (and I have flat, thin feet!). This makes it impossible to replace the insoles with thicker, more cushioned insoles.The Howell Tie Oxfords are good-looking shoes, but they don't hold a candle to good-old Seawalkers in functionality.For walking, I ended up defecting to Brooks' Addiction Walkers, which are much more comfortable.

I bought these on-line with confidence as I had a similar pair in the same size from ECCO that fit perfectly. The length is great, but they appear slightly wider than the old pair. I'll probably get by with thicker socks. There are no guarantees that slightly different styles from the same manufacturer will fit exactly the same. Shoe quality however appears very good.

These are a very nice shoe in terms of finish and style but for some reason this particular pair seems just a little smaller than the other Eccos I have. I am hoping they will stretch across the laces area in coming days and they should be fine as they are otherwise a good shoe

It was time to replace my worn out ECCOs after 2 years.The previous Oxford were made in Slovakia or Portugal,This pair looked the same but sits wrong , falls off , uncomfortable to walk - shipped backHope they still have some factories in EU

I like the shoe but unlike some other Eccos, the 39 which is said to be equal to a 5.5 for Ecco and is really more like an 8, in this case is more like a 7, a bit narrow, and with a very short toe box. I am going to try one size up. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm a fan of the ecco seawalkers and owned 8 pairs over 3 years. Since they were discontinued I've been searching for replacements. These are doing just fine. They fit comfortably, look nice when maintained and polished. I'm buying a 2nd pair in brown as I currently just have it in black.

I finally wore out the original Ecco's I purchased in Holland many years ago. They were comfortable and a pleasure to wear. These feel and wear the same.

I first bought this Ecco shoe four or five years ago and am still wearing them regularly. They were a similar price back then so the new replacement version should hopefully be as good. The Ecco size usually fits me well and these are no exception. The sole is a different material than the original pair (harder and more plastic looking) and to be super critical look a little cheaper but otherwise the shoes are pretty similar. I like Ecco shoes and as long as they are on sale I’d definitely recommend.

Als langjähriger Ecco-Schuh-Träger kann ich nichts bemängeln. Der Schuh passt in meiner Größe (44) wie angegossen und er ist mit hochwertigen Materialien sehr gut verarbeitet. Aussehen und Farbe entsprechen genau den Abbildungen. Darüber hinaus hat der Schuh ein ordentliches und bequemes Fußbett eingearbeitet das hervorragend der Fußform angepasst ist. In Verbindung mit der leichten Abrundung am Absatz, die wie eine Abrollhilfe den Gang unterstützt, stellt sich ein herrlich komfortables Laufgefühl ein. Durch das attraktive Design wirkt der Schuh edel und flott am Fuß.

Ich habe bereits das in China gefertigte Vorgängermodell und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Mal sehen, ob diese in der Slowakei produzierten die selbe Qualität haben (ein Rezensent hatte hier Probleme geäußert). Die Schuhe passen perfekt. Wenn man bei Ecco Größe 43 kauft, kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass es Größe 43 ist. Und, wichtig: Das von Amazon veröffentlichte Foto stimmt wohl nicht. Die Schuhe haben Mattleder. Das sieht nach meinem Geschmack gut aus. Wer glänzende Schuhe haben will, muss andere kaufen.

Comfy and stylish, just what I expected after previous ECCO products.

Ecco immer wieder gerne.Aus der Beschreibung geht nicht hervor dass es sich um offenes Rauhleder handelt. Gesucht hatte ich Glattleder.Der Schuh ist wirklich hübsch. Wir haben den Versuch gewagt und dieses Modell jetzt hoffentlich genauso lange im Einsatz, wie die bisherigen Glattledermodell gleicher Machart.
