The price was what I paid for a 1 oz pkg a year ago. This was 4 - 1 ounce tins for the same price. Beautiful colour, scent, and flavour. After reading the reviews, before purchase, I realised, Not being a pure aficionado of saffron, the less expensive brand might work just as well for myself. Fortunately, I was correct. I can not detect any difference between the Afghan saffron, from the Spanish saffron. But with the price difference, there must be one? But being an amateur, like I said, I can not detect the differences. So, if not too terribly particular, this saffron may suit your needs also. I haven’t been dissatisfied at all. Every time I open the tin, I get a fresh whiff of saffron, Hhhmmm good! I’ll purchase this brand again, when necessary.
