For the time ever getting a projector I would say it fantastic for watching tv and movies. Love the fact that it google tv projector. Made it easier going from a google Chromecast. Enjoying the bigger picture and quality. Also enjoy the bluetooth connectivity because the speaker are great but with a soundbar its better. Very quiet and light. Also easy to set up. Definitely recommend getting the screen with it. Great picture quality on the wall but get better with screen. Mount on the wall now just keeps getting better and better

Got it on sale and am pleased with the quality, connectivity, and sound. Speakers are actually pretty decent, I personally don’t think I need separate speakers as I plan to use this projector for casual use like YT and music mainly. Even with sound on the “Music” setting, I can comfortably watch a movie/show without needing BT speakers. Quality is great and I love how easy it is to clean the machine and how cleaning tools were provided. Worth it!

Edited & updated review at the bottom. I had originally given this only one star. Here's the original review: Just terrible. 1st: It's not 4k, its 1080P but looks like 720 at best. Also, its very dim, even in a blacked out room on a high quality screen. 2nd: while trying to see if there was a setting to increase picture quality, all of about 5 minutes, it started to produce burn in artifacts. After another 5 minutes, it was completely useless. Literally unwatchable due to the picture quality being so bad. Maybe I got sent a busted one, but it was so bad, that I do not trust this brand at all anymore. Here's my updated review: Since posting this and sending back the product, I was contacted by their customer support. They assured me that I must have received a defective device and decided to send me a replacement. After receiving the replacement and testing it out I can honestly say it is pretty decent and definitely a really solid picture for the price of this projector. I still dont like that its listed as 4k when only the input is 4k, the output is only 1080p, but it does look great and I imagine the vast majority of people would be very happy with its picture quality. It is super easy to set up and the built in Google TV gives you access hundreds if not thousands of movies and shows. I could see this being especially great for travel and events as well. It's definitely not the greatest for a home theater experience, but if price is a factor for you, it is a really solid pick that will get the job done. I'm also very impressed with their customer service. If you ever have any issues with it, they'll definitely make it right.

The HAPPRUN 510G is a compelling budget smart projector that punches above its weight with official Google TV integration, seamless streaming, and solid 4K-supported visuals for movies and casual use. While the manual focus requires patience during initial setup, especially at longer throws, the stationary installation makes it practical long-term. Minor text blur holds it back from premium performance, but for the price, it offers excellent value as an all-in-one home theater solution. Recommended for those prioritizing convenience and size over pixel-perfect detail. Design & Build Quality (or UX/UI for software): The HAPPRUN 510G features a compact, modern rectangular chassis suitable for ceiling or shelf mounting. The build feels solid for the price range, plastic but sturdy, with a manual focus ring that's tactile but requires careful handling at a distance. The Google TV interface is clean, responsive, and intuitive, with voice remote support and app ecosystem mirroring a native Android TV experience (no casting dongle needed). Setup UX is mixed: auto vertical keystone helps with basic alignment, but full parallax/focus tuning remains manual and time-intensive (~1 hour initially). Once positioned squarely, the UI shines for daily streaming, with no lag to my soundbar. Performance & Functionality: At 16 ft throw, the projector produces a large, immersive image (~120–140" diagonal) with acceptable clarity for films, shows, and gaming after calibration. Colors and contrast perform well in dark/controlled lighting, bolstered by Dolby Audio for decent built-in sound. Core strength lies in plug-and-play streaming via Google TV, no external device required. Functionality holds up for stationary use; no drift or frequent tweaks needed. Limitations appear in fine-detail scenarios: slight persistent blur on small text (subtitles, credits, menus) stems from manual focus challenges at long distances, native 1080p scaling, and budget lens characteristics (some field curvature or softness toward edges). Performs best in low light; daytime/ambient use reduces perceived sharpness further. Value Proposition & Pricing Analysis: At $250–$370 (frequently discounted), the HAPPRUN 510G delivers outstanding value for a Google TV-integrated projector, built-in Netflix certification, 4K decoding, and modern connectivity that outclass many similarly priced non-smart models. Competitors with true auto-focus/motorized lenses (e.g., XGIMI) cost $100–$300 more but reduce setup frustration. For fixed installations where a one-time effort is acceptable, this justifies the price handsomely; the integrated smart features alone save on additional hardware costs. Minor sharpness trade-offs are forgivable at this tier, making it a strong budget contender against basic 1080p projectors without smart OS. Technical Deep Dive: Native resolution is 1920×1080 (Full HD) with 4K (3840×2160) input decoding and upscaling, common in budget "4K support" projectors, delivers sharp 1080p content but softens when pushing 4K sources to large sizes. Brightness rated variably (200–400 ANSI lumens in listings; likely closer to the lower end in practice), sufficient for dark-room viewing but not bright environments. Throw ratio suits long setups (estimated 1.2–1.5:1), enabling 100–200" images at 10–20 ft. Manual focus combined with limited auto keystone (vertical only) demands precise physical alignment to avoid trapezoid distortion or uneven focus plane. At 16 ft, depth-of-field constraints and potential chromatic aberration contribute to text softness. Wi-Fi 6 ensures stable streaming; Bluetooth 5.2 supports low-latency audio to speakers/headphones. Lamp life typically 30,000+ hours (LED source), and ports cover HDMI (for consoles/PS5), USB media playback, and audio out. Pros and Cons: Pros Official Google TV with native app support (Netflix, etc.), true smart projector convenience Large, immersive image size at a budget price Solid connectivity (Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, multiple ports) Good value with Dolby Audio and 4K decoding Reliable for stationary setups once dialed in Cons Manual focus requires significant initial time/effort, especially at longer throws Slight blur on fine text/details persists even after adjustment Brightness is limited for well-lit rooms No full auto-focus or advanced lens shift Edge softness is typical of budget optics at large projections Final Verdict & Recommendation: 4.5 out of 5 stars. A highly capable budget smart projector that excels in streaming convenience and large-screen entertainment for the money, with the manual setup as its main hurdle. Excellent everyday performer for dark-room movie nights and casual gaming.
