This is my first time buying Gilden undershirts. I’m very happy with the quality for the cost (I picked these up on sale). They are soft, and the neckline is satisfactory. I really like the thickness of the cotton, it’s perfect for an undershirt in my opinion. Not thin, but not as thick as a quality T-shirt. Perfect for somebody like me who always wears a couple of layers on top of the undershirt since I am cold all the time. I was using Hanes lower cost undershirts for the past 15-20 years. I don’t know the different levels of Hanes undershirts quality, but the ones I was buying were roughly a few dollars per undershirt, and I replaced them every year with new ones. One thing that I clearly noticed is that the quality of the Hanes undershirts declined over the years. They used to be thick cotton and last a lot longer, enduring all those wash and dry cycles over a year. Nowadays, they are thin and not nearly as long lasting. The last five years I have had to replace the undershirts in less than a year due to the declining quality. These Gildan undershirts are the same quality of the Hanes undershirts I used to buy long ago. They cost just a little bit more than today’s Hanes, but the overall quality is much better, and they are a lot more comfortable. I will continue buying these as long as the quality does not decline and the price remains reasonable.
