These are quite long in the leg for shorts but are well designed. There are plenty of belt loops and pockets are deep enough. On the right hand side there are two patch style pockets, ideal for a mobile phone. I have a large rugged work phone and this fits in one of the pockets nicely. In the past, I have had shorts with velcro flaps on the side pockets. I found this to be a nuisance when inserting and removing phone with one hand. These patch pockets are ideal. The left hand side pocket has a flap that is stitched at each end for a more secure pocket, perhaps for a wallet. There are also two rear pockets, plus the traditional side pockets which is great.On unpacking, I found loads of threads hanging that I had to cut off, these had loops and knots in the ends where the machinist had not tidied them properly. I hope these will not now come undone.These are advertised as 'gusseted' and although quite a good fit, I would have liked a bit more room when sitting down. There is no seam in the middle, under the crotch. Usually this feels like a bit of rope cutting at you. They are a massive improvement on standard shorts. The front zip is a good length for easy access. Sometimes the zips can be too short meaning the shorts have to be manoeuvred when taking that all important comfort break. The zip is made by YKK, not just a cheapo either.All in all, I'm quite pleased and will order more if they prove comfortable and don't fall apart too soon.
