You would definitely want the smallest size--1.2mm I think? A word of warning: I love these pens (I bought one in every size) and the flow is incredible, but here's a caveat: because they put out a fair amount of ink (hence the nice flow), they work best on very "inert" paper (like parchment or layout paper); otherwise, your work will bleed like crazy. Though not as flowing, the Shaeffer cartridge pens work pretty well and can be used on less forgiving paper. Their "M" nib is also 1.2 mm. Hope that helps! **Q: can open ink cartridges be stored in between color changes on the same pen?** A: I use Press and Seal plastic wrap around the partially used cartridges once I take them out of the Pen. I store them horizontally so the hole is less likely to get clogged with dried ink. If you find that it has just take a water-dampened lint-free wipe (like is used for gel-nails etc) and gently wipe the dried area until clean. (I also clean out empty cartridges with water from a small syringe and refill with my own ink even though it warns that it could clog the pen - I find that nonsense as long as the ink is waterbased and the nib is cleaned before storing.) **Q: Do these refills work for all Pilot pens? like the Pilot Falcon?** A: I don't have the Falcon but you can look at Pilotpens website and it does not list either the parallel or falcon as being interchangeable for refills. The Q & A for the falcon ink refill says that it can be done but you may have leaks. Considering the price of a Falcon, I wouldn't try it without knowing for certain. **Q: do these work with your Pilot Parallel Pen 2-Color Calligraphy Pen Set, with Red and Blue Ink Cartridges, 1.5mm Nib (90050)?** A: All Pilot Parallel Pen pens work with the same ink cartridges, so, yes. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love inks & pens *by S***E on November 20, 2025* I love the pilot parallel pens all the inks are very nice though some dont take to certain papers. These pens not so much the ink let out alot of ink while using them so on certain materials they will bleed. Inks are not waterproof. But I love the colors they have and that they can be mixed just by holding 2 pen nibs together. When nib touching for an ombre effect you will need to touch multiple times to keep effect ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ink by the dozen *by E***O on August 19, 2026* You can never have enough of these , Buy plenty your gonna need them!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen and Mixable Colors *by A***R on July 30, 2012* I just bought a Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen and the Pilot Mixable Colour. I could not for the life of me find any information about if the Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen being able to works with the Pilot Mixable Colours. I am here to let you all know that it does. So far I have only use on of the ink in the Vanishing Point Fountain Pen. I love how bright and easy to use the colors are. It works like any of the other inks Pilot makes. I know that this product states that it is for the Pilot Parallel Pens, but you also can use them in the Vanishing Point Fountain Pens if you would like to have more colors then black or Blue/Black. I know that some of use don't live in a black and blue world. I sure don't and why should one of my favorite pens have too? I say no to only a hand full of colors! Use the Pilot Mixable Colour refills. They are amazing and working wonderful in the Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen. I will update you on how it does in a week or two. I am back and wanted to let you know that I did email Pilot and here is what they said, We recommend the use of our Namiki/Pilot ink to refill your pen. Its exclusive formula ensures proper long-term functioning of your writing instruments. Other brands can damage and prevent the proper functionality of your pen, which inhibits your writing experience and voids your warranty. I have to say that I am going to still use this ink in my Vanishing Point Fountain pen and see what happens in the next month. So far it has been working really well and I love this ink in my pen. ## Frequently Bought Together - PILOT Parallel Mixable Color Ink Refills for Calligraphy Pens, 12 Colors, 12-Pack (77312) - PILOT Parallel Caligraphy Pens, Assorted Point Sizes and Colors, 6 Count (12722) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.mx/products/7300079-parallel-mixable-color-ink-refills-for-calligraphy-pens-12-pack](https://www.desertcart.mx/products/7300079-parallel-mixable-color-ink-refills-for-calligraphy-pens-12-pack) --- *Product available on Desertcart Mexico* *Store origin: MX* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
