I have owned these CamelBak Thrive Chug stainless steel water bottles for many years, which should tell you something. I am usually pretty good at buying something, loving it for approximately three weeks, and then forgetting it exists. Somehow, these bottles have survived years of daily use, countless trips, being tossed into bags, sitting in cars, and generally being treated like equipment instead of something I paid money for. And they are still going strong. The CamelBak Thrive Chug 20oz is one of those products that makes you wonder why someone had to invent 47 different kinds of water bottles before arriving at something this straightforward. It holds water. It keeps the water pleasantly cold. It is easy to drink from. It fits nicely into a bag. It does not require a college degree to operate. What more could civilization possibly want? The stainless steel construction has been a huge plus for me. After years of use, I still appreciate having a bottle that feels substantial without being ridiculously heavy. It has that reassuring “I could probably drop this and the sidewalk would lose” quality that you want from something you carry around regularly. And yes, I have dropped them. More than once. Possibly more than I would like to admit. The Navy color is also fantastic. It has that simple, understated look that works everywhere. It does not scream “LOOK AT MY FANCY WATER BOTTLE!” It just quietly sits there looking good while reminding me that I should probably drink more water. The chug-style opening is one of my favorite features. I like being able to take a normal drink without feeling like I am trying to drink from a tiny laboratory instrument. There is something wonderfully satisfying about a bottle that lets you actually drink water like a normal human being. The size is another reason these have stuck around for me. Twenty ounces is enough to be useful without turning the bottle into a portable hydration tank. It is easy to carry, easy to grab, and easy to fit into a variety of places. I have taken these along for errands, work, travel, outdoor activities, and those exciting adventures known as “going somewhere and hoping I remember to bring water.” The insulation has also held up well over the years. Cold water stays cold, which is really the whole point. There are few things more disappointing than reaching for your water bottle expecting refreshing ice-cold water and getting something that feels like it has been sitting on the dashboard since 1997. These bottles have saved me from that experience many times. One thing I particularly appreciate is that these have become familiar. That sounds silly, but there is something nice about having a product you have used for years and knowing exactly what to expect from it. I do not have to think about how it works, whether the lid is going to annoy me, or whether the bottle is going to fall apart after a few months. It just works. And after owning them for many years, that reliability is probably what impresses me most. They have also become one of those things that I apparently own in multiple places because I have reached the stage of life where discovering a water bottle in a random room feels like finding spare cash in an old jacket. “Oh! I forgot I had this one!” Of course, like any reusable bottle, it still needs to be cleaned. This is not a magical self-cleaning hydration device from the future. If you leave water in it for approximately six months and expect it to smell like a mountain spring, that is a you problem. But with normal care, these have held up exceptionally well for me. After years of ownership, I have very little interest in replacing them. That is probably the strongest endorsement I can give. There are plenty of products that seem exciting when they are brand new and then quietly disappear from your life. These did the opposite. They became part of my everyday routine. I also appreciate that the design has not tried too hard to be clever. Sometimes a product does not need twelve buttons, an app, Bluetooth connectivity, a charging port, or a monthly subscription. Sometimes you just want a bottle that holds cold water and does not make your morning more complicated. This is that bottle. If you are looking for a durable, practical, reusable water bottle that is comfortable to drink from and has proven itself over many years, I have a hard time finding much to complain about here. Mine have survived years of use and abuse and are still doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Five stars without hesitation. I have owned these for many years, and apparently they have become permanent members of the household. At this point, I am pretty sure they will outlive me. I just hope they do not get custody of the dog.

Filling it up with cold tap water and a few ice cubes is easy thanks to the wide neck opening. The double-wall vacuum insulation does a fantastic job holding temperature. I filled it up in the morning, and the water stayed ice-cold all day long without sweating on the outside or leaving wet rings on my wooden desk. Even the next day, both the ice and water were still in the bottle. The chug-style spout cap unscrews smoothly and tethered out of the way, making it easy to take quick, large gulps without fighting a narrow straw or a clunky latch. Carrying forty ounces of liquid has some weight, but the soft-grip handle built into the lid makes it comfortable to haul around. The screw-on lid seals down tight against the mouth rim, so I can toss it onto the passenger seat of my car without worrying about slow leaks dripping onto the upholstery. It was exactly what I was looking for - smaller chug and no straw. I love that the chug/spout is made of silicone and not hard plastic. Fairly easy to clean, not a lot of crevices. It fell a couple of times and it held up great. The water stays cold for a long time even when in the sun. The only "con" for me, is the lid that "forces/springs" open instead of moving freely.

Update: There is some plastic in the lid which does contact the liquid. Not a lot, but some. Unfortunately, I learned that mold really likes silicone! I have to wash the lid after every use, and let it air dry, or mold grows on the mouthpiece! Still a good water bottle, but a little more work than others. Also, make darn sure that the mouthpiece cover is well screwed on, or it leaks. This bottle is exactly what I wanted. - 40 ounces, enough for a 2 hour tennis match in the sun. - Stays cold, ice from last night’s match not melted - doesn’t leak in my bag, yay - no plastic touching lips or water, just stainless steel and silicone - dishwasher safe - no straw to get icky

It’s honestly hard to find a good chug-style water bottle, especially one that’s stainless steel and still has a sleek, clean design. I looked at a lot of different options, but for one reason or another, they just weren’t quite what I was looking for! This one finally checked the boxes for me. I really love the stainless steel design and the clean, neutral look. It’s the kind of bottle I feel comfortable bringing with me anywhere without it feeling too sporty or out of place. I’m really happy with my choice and I trust the CamelBak brand.

I've been using this bottle daily for a few months, and it still doesn't leak! I prefer to chug rather than use a straw and this bottle has a great top for chugging. It keeps my water cold for a long time and is very easy to carry and clean. I like that it has a rubber bottom and is very quiet when placed on a hard surface. I would definitely recommend and would buy again.

This is a great and durable water bottle. It definitely keeps water cold for a long time and fits in my ‘22 Toyota Sienna cup holders. I like this top because it’s easy to lean and easy to drink out of, as well as spill proof. The thing I wasn’t happy with is one of the main reasons I bought this water bottle is because it is advertised as dishwasher safe. However, when I received the bottle, the packaging still says dishwasher safe, but the bottle itself says “hand wash only”. I reached to our customer service and they said you can put it in the top shelf of the dishwasher, but it’s recommended to hand wash it to preserve the design on the outside. So pretty much, no, it’s not dishwasher safe. Even if I wanted to, the bottle doesn’t fit on the top shelf of my dishwasher. Which was a bummer to me because as a busy mom, I’m at a point where I just want convenience in my life. Also, the design is starting to scratch and I haven’t even used it in the dishwasher, and I use it lightly (pretty much just keep it in my car to drink during my commute to/from work).

Well worth the cost, this is a quality item that’s going to last for years. Pleasant tactile experience, leakproof, perfect size for a 1 hour workout. The handle is useful, the spout feels nice to drink from, and there is no germy internal straw to get lost in the dishwasher! The insulation is terrific too. I pour in a hydration tablet and cold filtered water from the fridge when I pack my gym bag. Hours later when I use it, it’s still refreshing and cool throughout the session. Cannot fault. I have had so many different flasks and bottles over the years, but this one ticks every box. Delivery cost/time from the US stock was pretty quick too, only a few days in my case.

Flinke thermosfles. Houdt goed koel. Het handvat is praktisch. Tuitje is net ruim genoeg om uit te drinken, van een prettig materiaal. Kan goed in de vaatwasser. De buitenkant krast helaas snel.
