The reason the asker is asking about lead is because dandelion will pull lead from the soil into the plant. If the ground is contaminated from leaded fuel farm equipment (very common in the past), the dandelion will have lead.

Roots should be simmered for 20-30 minutes on low heat.... Leaf should be steeped 10-15 mins in hot water... tea bags in either root or leaf can just be steeped for 10-15 mins. hope this helped

Does the Dandelion root get radiated in the shipping process?
