Amazing and Unique Chili!
This chili is made with a cinnamon base which gives it a bold flavor. It might not be for everyone, but if you're willing to try something new and unique then this is a perfect chili for you. Layered over a bed of spaghetti with chopped onions, pinto beans, and finely shredded cheddar cheese is sure to be a meal to remember. Overall quality is very high with a few cans showing some wear during travel and the product is a bit pricey but could be worth giving a try if you're looking for a unique dish.

Very authentic Cincinnati Chili!
If you are from the Cincinnati area, you know all about Skyline Chili. This canned chili is very good; in restaurant is better, but this is a great taste if you are not near a Skyline restaurant.

A Cincinnati Favorite, And An Acquired Taste
I did not fully enjoy Skyline Chili the first time I had it. I was introduced to it by a Cincinnati friend who made me a "four-way", which consists of chili, spaghetti, cheese, and beans. I am not a fan of beans. I tried it a second time to make sure the first time wasn't a flukeโthis time without the beans, and enjoyed it very much. And now I am a fan. The taste is definitely unique, not sure what the secret ingredient is but I hear it's chocolate. The consistently is not thick like other types of chilis. To eat it properly, first place angel hair pasta (a thin pasta is a requirement) on a plate, then pour the warmed chili sauce on top of the pasta, and finally add a mountain of shredded *extra sharp cheddar cheese* (which can be very weird at first). You also have the option of adding in Skyline Chili's Famous Oyster Crackers , or beans, or onions, or all of that. Give it a couple of chances and you just might like it; I make no guarantees because this is an acquired taste. You get eight cans of Skyline. While it's pricey, it beats the prices from other sites and you don't have to go all the way to Cincinnati or ask your friends to get you some. Don't forget to dine in at the Skyline Chili restaurants whenever you're in Cincinnati for the most authentic taste!

Same great taste, in a can!
I've eaten at several Skyline restaurants in Ohio (several times at the one in Dayton), and am a HUGE fan of their chili. It is NOTHING like the traditional southwest/Texas chili con carne, except that it contains beef (in this case, very finely ground) and spices (including cinnamon in this case). If you order this expecting some slight variation on the traditional chili, you will likely be disappointed. This is a very different animal. But if you're already familiar with and are a fan of the soupy wonderfulness of Cincinnati-style chili, then you'll like this. My favorite way to eat this is a 3-way: angel hair pasta topped with chili and finely-shredded cheddar cheese. Half of a 15-oz can of Skyline chili (heated) plus 3.5 oz dry pasta (weigh it dry, then cook to al dente) topped with a generous handful of shredded cheese = a decent-sized serving, filling and delicious. When you consider that you can get 2 servings from one can, the cost seems more reasonable. I was surprised that the taste of the canned product is almost identical to the flavor of the chili you get in the restaurant. I couldn't taste any of the usual "canned" undertones you get sometimes. Very impressed they were able to get it this "right." Still a huge fan, and will likely keep this in my pantry as long as I can get it for a reasonable cost. It's a wonderful warm weekend lunch to have while watching football!

Dented Cans
Love love love Skyline! Being able to get it shipped to the house just brings a sense of home no matter where we are stationed. The only issue is, more times than not, the cans arrive extremely dented. Sometimes the damage is enough where it is leaking. I wish the packing process was a little more to ensure the product arrives safely.
