Delicious Barista Worthy Coffee
OMG. I am blown away by this machine. Prior to this I had a DeLonghi espresso/coffee maker. It lasted about 10 years until it started having circuit board issues. It cost 3 times the amount of my new ChefRobot. First, the packaging on this machine was outstanding. Espresso machines are notoriously heavy. This was strapped onto two cardboard pallets. The straps were blue heavy duty nylon for easy lifting from the box. 👍 As for setup, easy peesy! Right out of the box (after a short cleaning cycle), I was able to enjoy a latte. Now I am drinking a cappuccino. I never have two cups of coffee in the morning. So that is saying a lot about how great the coffee tastes. Thank you ChefRobot. I hope to have many enjoyable years with this machine.

Delicious coffee
It makes Greatest coffee ever I had, but take really long time to turn on and be ready to use, also sometimes grander randomly doesn’t work. Also milk part isn’t fit easy.

I really wanted to like it.
Was looking for an automatic espresso maker and was interested in this one after seeing a youtube video. Saw the item was on sale, so picked on up. The Good: Packing is incredible, it'll take some work for one to be damaged in shipping The setup was dead simple Very easy to use The espresso was good, we used a double shot to make my Americanos and my wife would do a double foamed milk The noise wasn't bad. My wife is up at 4 a.m., our bedroom is above the kitchen and when she made her morning espresso, it never woke me up Cleanup was a snap The Bad: The catch tray fault light would come on, usually when trying to make the first espresso of the day, but a couple of times, it came on in the middle of the day. I would pop the tray out about 1/4" then slide it back in to clear the fault The milk frother didn't ever froth. We used milk, half and half and soy milk, it would make steamed milk no matter what setting you had the frother on Beans wouldn't always feed into the grinder. After it failed, we would have to open the bean hopper and stir the beans around to get them to feed You cannot program the heat. I saw complaints about temperatures going in, but figured it would be fine. It wasn't. pre-heating the cups didn't really help, if you like your espresso hot you're going to have to microwave it. There seemed to be an excessive amount of water in the catch tray, with some grinds. See below. The Inexcusable: I noticed there seemed to be a lot of water in the catch tray with some of the grinds. Saw some comments on this from others too, but figured it couldn't be that bad. As with the temperature, I was wrong. I was truly surprised how much water was there after what I would consider mild use. For two days, we went ahead and limited ourselves to three double espressos each. At the end of the day, I would pull the tray and measured the water (see pics). There was 4.2 ounces after six double espressos. I was curious if this was me being paranoid or if it was a lot, so I went to the website. The website is almost entirely for their chef-robot product, the espresso maker seems to be an after thought. After looking through the support site and finding nothing, I went to the Still Looking for Assistance section. They have a form you can fill out with your name, email and a message. I filled out the information asking about the water Thanksgiving night. It is December 4th, and I still have not received a response. Not counting the holiday weekend (four days), it has been four days with no response (eight in total). That is inexcusable in my books, so 1 star.

Disappointed with the Milk Frother
The coffee tastes good but disappointed in the milk frother. If you want a cappuccino and are expecting a nice milk froth with it don't get this machine. I have even tried to put it on the highest setting and still the milk comes out more liquid than frothy. Disappointed because I bought it mainly for this feature. Prior Ito this purchase I was frothing my milk with an electric frother so was hoping this all in one machine would do the trick.

Loved the Robot!
We love the Chef Robot. It truly is automatic and it takes the hassle out of making coffee drinks. However, the directions were a bit too brief. I had to watch a video on-line to learn how to use the machine. Other than that, we are very satisfied.

Makes great tasting coffee
I love this machine! Very easy to use and I love that it grinds the fresh roast coffee beans it just makes the coffee taste so much better. I would have given it 5 starts but it seems to be a bit loud. Other then that I would definitely recommend

Makes an excellent brew.
Makes wonderful espresso, cappuccino, Latte and coffee. Easy to put together and packaging is excellent. Only hint is to move the coffee beans around before the first brew as they can get stuck in the shoot over night.

Sooo....OMG ...Finally a coffee machine that is worth every penny....amazeballs... so far so good...we no longer venture to Starbucks or Tim's...we use lavazza crema and enjoy every single solitary coffee option....its so awesome...my only one complaint is size...I don't like the fact that it only spits out like 8 oz.... there should be a larger size option..but other than that...finally...I will never have to endure another crappy machine again...this one rocks my coffee world!!!

This thing is much larger than I expected. It's 14" high, 10.5" wide, and 18" deep. Still it takes up slightly less footprint than a separate coffee grinder, and 12-cup drip coffee machine put side by side. My immediate impressions of the unit is how well built it is. Yes, the body exterior is mostly plastic but it's very heavy and feels upscale. So it is unexplainable to me why the unit itself lacks any sort of safety certification. I looked all over including the bottom and could not find a single UL, ETL, TUV, or CSA stamp. Even though this appliance isn't used continuously in my household, it's not a good feeling to know that consumer safety wasn't a consideration by the manufacturer. In terms of use, this thing works as well as my semi-automatic Delonghi with far less work. I don't need to grind beans separately, tamper a portafilter, monitor pressure, and dunk the espresso grinds/puck into a knock box when I'm done. It does it all for me. The best thing about it is the super simplistic drink selection. Even my tech-illiterate parents can operate it which says ALOT. Perhaps the only part that is similar is the need to wash the milk container after every use. However, if I only drink black Espresso or Americano, I can basically go a whole week before needing to "maintain" the unit. By maintain, I mean clean out the coffee grinds compartment, fill water, fill coffee beans, and empty the drip tray. Note that unlike the Delonghi, pressing the clean function while milk is in the milk container will cause it to use the milk as the cleaning fluid. I recommend emptying the milk container and replace with water prior to pressing the clean button. On the Delonghi, cleaning forces water through the spouts and whatnot but does not affect the milk that's in the jug. On the plus side, the coffee bean compartment actually has a rubber seal for the lid. So it keeps beans fresh longer when compared to the other unit. Result-wise, I'm unable to tell the difference between drinks brewed with this machine and the other. I tried Espresso, Cappuccino, and Latte modes and all came out amazing. If it's not for that one single thing, this is a perfect machine in my mind.

The Chef Robot automatic espresso machine works like a *dream* - the only downside is I might be a little over caffeinated since it arrived. I even have family members who haven't drank coffee in years enjoying drinks from this machine. The first thing I noticed about the Chef Robot is the quality of the extraction. I started with good quality organic beans (which is key) and this machine really makes them sing. The espresso is a rich velvety mahogany topped with a perfect golden-tan foam layer (crema) ~ Balanced with no astringency or over-extraction harshness and a lingering chocolatey finish. It’s coffee nirvana fr. In the past I've used everything from manual espresso machines to french presses & Nitro cold brew set ups I've always preferred cold coffee over hot coffee, but I think this machine has converted me to the dark side… I've never used anything so high tech to make my morning coffee before and I wasn’t sure if there would be A- a learning curve (there isn’t) or whether it would be worth the trouble to have ‘fancy cafe drinks’ (it absolutely is.) This machine is amazing! It's completely self contained and automatic, even the used grinds get emptied and deposited into a removable bin I can just dump in the compost. The milk frothing unit is removable for easy storage in the fridge. I’ve seen a few complaints about the milk frother not being “frothy enough” but I personally think it works perfectly. It’s also easy enough to just whip up a bit of extra foam in my automatic frother if i’m feeling a little extra. Having tested this for a week now whipping up drinks for everyone in my household - it’s unanimous - all the options (espresso shots, cappuccinos, lattes, and Americanos) are delicious - like absolute *barista quality* - without the noisy and expensive visits to Starbucks. I've tried a few extra touches to take the already delicious drinks to the next level like blending the cappuccinos with ice & some flavoured creamer an iced-cappuccino or "frappuccino" vibe ~ or adding some whipped cream to the top and finishing with some maple sugar. Delicious - but I find it's not really necessary since IMO the cappuccinos are perfect the way they are so long as you have good beans. The point is this machine gets great results every single time with minimal time and effort. You literally just press a button. No grinding. No tamping. Just one button operation. + It has notifications for water refill & grounds disposal - it's beyond easy. The entire drip tray & grounds collection tray slide out for easy cleaning but there’s also a built-in cleaning function (again another user-friendly 1 button operation.) All to say - this machine is a beast. It’s super simple, cafe-quality drinks you can bang out in literally seconds. Perfect for anyone who regularly has guests but doesn’t want to spend their time in the kitchen.. Equally great for busy folks who want to save a few minutes and a few bucks getting their morning caffeine fix in.

This seems like a good espresso machine, and it should not deserve a single star. However, given that the one I received does not work due to a hose problem, I will have to rate it with the lowest possible stars based on my experience. The issue is that espresso machines move water from the water container to the coffee grounds at a high pressure and this requires good hoses that hold the water and stand to pressure. Unfortunately in my case, the hose had an issue right out of the box and the device never output any water. You can see the opened up case in my photos and video from the side view. A single problem in a hose causes all the water to leak out. Given that there are other reviewers complaining about more water than expected in the tray and the foamer not working, I am guessing that this is a common problem at different levels. Other than that, I originally liked that it did not take too wide an area on the counter for its front facade. Its dimensions go quite deep, but the the width of the front face was 10.5 inches. I found its water container smaller than I would like, but for small portion espressos, it is still more than enough. It does not have any options to play with the temperature or the pressure, but it does offer a setting (5 levels) for fineness of the grinding. It does not have any indications of electrical certifications for Canada which is a cause for concern for a high power kitchen device. The heating tray at the top seems to heat quite well. It is, of course, not a silent machine, but I found its noise level to be quite good. My small coffee grinder makes much more noise on its own than this machine. In the future, it might cause some problems with cleaning as it seems that there is no easy way to reach down to the grinder part. The instructions manual contained much less information than I expected, but the machine itself does not require much instruction either. Overall, it seemed like a good and practical machine, but unfortunately it came with a problem right out of the box and I have not been able to use it at all. A working machine would definitely deserve many more stars, but I will give the lowest rating due to the one I received coming faulty and not working. That is especially disappointing given that this is a $800 CAD machine at the time of writing.

Over the years, I've gone through many different ways of brewing my coffee - from drip coffee makers, to Keurig machines, to French press, etc. I think I've finally found the ultimate coffee making machine. This is by far the best and easiest coffee making method that I have experienced, that also requires the least amount of maintenance/clean up. From the get go, I will say that this is not a small machine. It does take up quite a bit of real estate on my kitchen counter, but for a fully automatic coffee making machine that does everything for you, this is expected. The build quality is pretty decent, nothing out of the ordinary here, but nothing bad either. The touch screen is nice, large, and is very easy to read. It gives you options to make Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Americano and Milk Foam. The options for Cappucino, Latte and Milk Foam disappear when you remove the milk container from the machine (the milk container can be easily removed to store in the fridge when not in use). The screen intelligently also alerts you when you are running low on water, milk, when the used coffee ground container is full, along when the several removable water/milk/used coffee grounds are not properly installed. You have the option of manually adjusting the size of coffee to be grounded to, and the amount of milk frothing. I have been using this coffee machine daily for the last 3 weeks, and I will say that every type of beverage that it makes, it makes it very well, and is absolutely delicious. This is coming from somebody that knows coffee. Everything this coffee machine does, it does well, from the grinding of the beans to frothing of the milk, it ends up with a great end product. The only critical thing I'll say about this coffee machine is that the temperature of the beverages could probably be hotter. They're still going to be hot, but if you usually add some additional creamer that's straight out of the fridge, like I do, the drink will be ready to drink immedietly instead of having to wait a bit for it to cool down to appropriate levels. Whether this is an advantage or disadvantage will likely depend on personal preference. The only maintenance required is the refilling of the different containers with water, milk, and coffee beans, and also the disposal of used coffee grounds along with dripped water that had collected over time. This coffee machine even has an option for self-cleaning, which helps in keeping the internals clean and descaled (helped by pouring a bit of descaling agent (not included) into the water tank). Overall, I absolutely fell in love with this coffee machine, and it will likely be my final stop in my journey of finding the best coffee making method. I can easily recommend this all-in-one coffee machine.
