Hobbywing LED Programme Box for EZRUN and XERUN ESC

Don’t think that AI knows everything! It doesn’t. I ordered this programmer only to find it supposedly doesn’t support my ESC. I found the programmer that does support it but got this programmer too just to check a theory. Here’s the rub. This programmer DOES support my Hobbywing Skywalker V2 esc even though it’s claimed otherwise.!!! The way Hobbywing set it up it appears as if it is not compatible. I got the programmer only and lo and behold. It had the Skywalker faceplate in the box. For ten bucks you bet I checked it out. It worked perfectly. It popped right up and reported the correct values for the ESC. I was able to easily program the “incompatible” esc to this programmer. If you have a Hobbywing Skywalker 40 V2. It will work fine. Whoever figured the programmer was not compatible with this Hobbywing esc is dead wrong. They are compatible. One final note Hobbywing is a bit vague about how to connect the leads. I have a Spektrum receiver 6 channel. (6610) To connect the programmer and receiver, take the 4 wire connector (the line with a spare yellow wire is on it.) Plug the 3 wire connector (the one that has the yellow data wire hanging free) into the port on the programmer that has JUST the + and - on the plug. The other plug on the case has + and - and a “data” symbol. Plug the yellow data wire into the port that has 3 symbols. The + the - and a square wave (data) symbol which is the line you must have connected for the programmer to communicate with the ESC. Take the yellow data wire and connect it to that port. You will have only the yellow wire to connect. Be sure you don’t connect it upside down. It won’t hurt anything If you plug it in backwards. It just won’t work. That lone yellow wire connects to the square wave symbol port. If you get only “-“ (hyphens) it means you have power correct but no data. Check yellow data wire to be sure it’s connected to the port with that data (square wave) symbol. The LAST STEP is to hook up the battery. Be sure not to put the battery on before the wires to the ports are connected. The programmer won’t work if the battery is connected before the data and power wires. I don’t know why but it’s right on the instructions not to plug the battery before the connectors. The rest is pretty intuitive. If everything is connected properly you should get the value for the first programmable item. You will see several stick on faceplates in the box. One of those faceplates has “Skywalker v2” on it. Use that faceplate if you have the Skywalker. There are other faceplates in the box. These faceplates will change the choices you are making while programming. Simple. There are 9 choices for a Skywalker. Having the correct faceplate is necessary otherwise you end up making choices for whatever faceplate you selected. Now just choose the item you want and then hit “value” and select the value according to the choices on the faceplate. Once you have made your choice hit OK. The screen will flash back to the hyphens then back to your choice. This is indicating that you have programmed the ESC. Disconnect the battery. Your ESC is now programmed!

Work like a charm and you definately need it to program your esc!!
