The Resolution for Women

I have not seen the Courageous movie myself but my family has and says that it is the best Sherwood movie made yet. Anyway, I thought the Resolution book for women might benefit myself as well as my whole family. I have started reading it and it is very convicting and encouraging about how God expects us as women to live. It is also a very engaging book that draws you in as the author uses stories and illustrations to make her points. This is a must read for all women no matter the stage of your life. Incidently, I also purchased the resolution for Men for my husband for Christmas from another seller and I looked it over. It looks like a great companion book to the Women one and a must read for men as they try to follow God and lead their families. Please read The Resolution for Women. It will help you personally to be the woman that God expects you to be and it will help you be a better mother and wife and female overall. I bought this book a while back, and have now re-read it several times and have probably purchased it half-a-dozen times at least, to give as gifts to my friends. It is well-written, easy to understand, and Biblically-sound. I have read a lot of this author's books, and I think this one is the best for today's Christian ladies...young and old alike. It encourages me to "stay the course" in a world that at times can be so confusing and heartbreaking. This book will give you hope.

I absolutely love this book that Priscilla has written. I am reading it in a small group setting but you could totally just read it on your own. It is set up so you can read a chapter at a time or read the mini chapters within the chapter each day. She is very frank about what she talks about and writes it so easily. I have learned so much and am really needing this book for where I am in life. So glad I am doing this. If you are not a believer, this is still a great book to help you in life and as a women.

Absolutely fantastic book.

This book earns 4.4 out of five stars from me. As part of my new year goals, I decided to read a chapter (or segment) of inspirational or motivational nonfiction before bed at least five out of seven nights. This represents the first inspirational book chosen for that purpose this year. I love the tiny segments each part of the resolution is divided into. It makes for a perfect reading and reflection length in the evenings. I scrawled several pages worth of notes and introspection during this quiet time. The writing is filled with great illustrations and plenty of scripture references. Why not a higher rating? While the book started out strong, I felt the final few chapters didn't have the same emotional impact. Not because the topics were unimportant or irrelevant either. I'm not sure what went wrong for me, but ending on a lower note than the book started with affected my rating. I still recommend this for anyone who feels like they need guidance for their spiritual journey. It's not really a Bible study, but it has the potential to spark interest in different study topics.

Having seen the movie "Courageous" I went searching Amazon for these Resolution books for me and for my husband. If ever we have any intention to 'being a better person tomorrow than we are today", this book has so many helpful parts to start working on it. It would also be a good book for a few ladies to get a small group together to study, discuss ideas, and hold each other accountable as they walk through the book. Get ready for some very challenging discussions, though! But this is very. very good food for thought, and ammunition for the battles of today's world. We need to stand up, raise the bar, and be ready to help others attain their goals as well! THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ALL!

Honestly one of the best books I have ever read. It is a must read for every woman. It started off a bit dead but boy oh boy did she nail it throughout the rest of the book. I finished the book convicted and with a heavy weight on my shoulders because I realized that there is so much we need to do as women for ourselves our families and our homes. If you want to make a difference in your life and the life of those around you this is the book for you. If your feeling like there is more to life then what you are experiencing right now then this is the book for you but be aware that you will get more than you bargained for.

My small group (married women aged 30-40 from multiple denominations) has thoroughly enjoyed this book. Each chapter has spoken to each of us right where we are, despite our diverse lives. We have been challenged by the simple, yet profound truths of Scripture and encouraged to rise to the occasion as women and live out the call of God in our lives. I have ordered 10 of these to distribute to my closest friends and young women that I mentor. The chapters of forgiveness and marriage are excellent. Priscilla Shirer's writing style speaks truth with grace--not watered down, but also not so in your face that the real challenges of living them out are ignored. Highly recommend.
