It does not really wash them or get them wet, but the sounds are realistic and my grandchildren love playing with it. **Q: does it spin?** A: Yes, it spins at I think 2 speeds with sounds. My 2-1/2 YO grandson still loves having a washing machine at grandma's house. When he's home and we Facetime, he says "grandma, wash-machine" so I have to let him see me put the detergent in and turn it on!
