I want to hang something in my classroom on a magnetic white board. Is this an appropriate surface for the magnets?

It also depends on the percentage of iron in the magnetic white board. A lot of them have just enough to let a magnet on the dry erase pen to stay or other magnets (no matter the strength) hold a couple sheets of paper. I have a magnetic white board on my refrigerator and most of my magnets slide to the bottom if any weight is added. I bought a regular sheet of ferrous metal and painted it and added to the lower half of my refrigerator and the same magnets snap to it and stay in place. Sheet metal comes in different ferrous ratings. If I am looking for something that can hold a magnet, I take strong magnet w/ me to test it on the sheet metal.

Regular magnets - move them to different locations. If you read the reviews about them, you'll see the many uses people put them to. Like others, I bought them for use on a cruise.
