The Gardein Plant Based Ground Be'f Vegan Froze Meat Alternative is a very good plant based protien that tastes much like beef. The product is very flavorful and excellent heated up or added to other warm dishes.

I don't eat real beef so cannot tell you how closely it resembles that in taste, but this stuff is super easy to cook and can take on the flavor of whatever you want it to. I sauteed it in olive oil with some rice, Thai spices, and snap peas and it was a really filling and tasty meal. It has low fat and high protein which seems like a win/win. I've also cooked it with tomato sauce and Taco seasoning and had it as a filler for corn tortillas. Good value too - it was $5 (as of 6/2026 - who knows about the future) and is enough for several meals.

This is our go-to meat-free ground beef replacement. The texture is great and takes on the flavors you are cooking with without adding any of it's own funkiness. Wish it was more available locally.

This “ground beef” takes on the flavors of the spices and ingredients it is mixed into. I like spicy foods, so to me as a stand alone ground beef substitute the flavor is not bad at all, but it’s bland. The most noticeable difference to me, personally, is the texture. With that said, it mixes very well with other ingredients, which makes it less apparent that it is plant based. I have used it mixed with ground beef 50/50 ratio in soup, spaghetti sauce, and chili, and my die hard beef eaters didn’t notice. It was a first time test for me to see if I could successfully feed my professed carnivores some healthier sauces and dishes without them protesting. They agreed that they didn’t really taste a difference. I think they would have noticed if I had used 100% Gardein due to the slightly crumbly texture. I will definitely buy it again. It is a quality product that crosses off some important boxes for me - easy, healthy, plant based alternative. I’d like to experiment with making burgers and using it as a standalone protein in some other recipes, too. It’s not ground beef, but if you like ground beef, it’s pretty darn close with a lot less fat and calories. Give it a try.

Delicious. I use to make nachos and it's a great size. There's a lot in the package. It was delivered very fast and was still frozen when it arrived!

Very good option for vegan eating

I'm not a vegan but I buy this often. It's convenient and tastes decent, it's also very cheap and the macros are incredible. What I don't like is that it's out of stock so often.
