This is a good clock to use as a primary or secondary alarm clock. It is very loud which is what I wanted. I use it to ensure I wake at 4 am on days I have to receive a dialysis treatment.

The reason I’m only giving it 3 stars is because well, it’s a beautiful piece, Don’t get me wrong and it’s very well-made and it’s gorgeous to look at, but if you’re standing far away from it or even halfway near it, you can’t see the face of the clock because the numbers really are not that bright on the unit I got (Blueface white numbers) now, When you’re standing right next to it AND your also in a well lit room, yes, you could see it perfectly. And then there’s the backup light .. common, this has to be a joke. Please understand, The whole back doesn’t light up. No. it’s just a little tiny small dim light in the corner of it. so I put it on my novelty shelf, I have one of those but out of all honesty, I really also wanted a full functioning clock. It does work. It is loud when you turn it on I don’t really use the alarm because it’s not in my room… now there are other models that maybe I could’ve seen the numbers on the clock better but I can’t say it would’ve been as pretty and as nice as this one. I did turn on the alarm. I think it’s loud but it is it super loud now, but I think it’s loud enough that it would definitely wake somebody up assuming they’re sleeping right next to it. So I’m not gonna return it, but if the backup light lit the entire clock, or even better if the numbers on it were much brighter and maybe lit up automatically, I probably would’ve gave it five stars. It does work. But I shouldn’t have to stand right next to it to see the time. Just an honest review.

I’m nearly 30, and I’ve spent the better part of my life on an endless hunt for an alarm clock that could actually wake me up. I’ve tried everything: the Sonic Bomb, custom speaker setups loud enough for the neighbors to hear, and every high-intensity tone I could find on Zedge. Most of those failed me, and I was beginning to think I was impossible to wake. Enter the Peakeep. This thing is the real deal, hitting at 110 Hz it's loud and annoying and will rattle any surface you put it on. It’s incredibly simple—just two modes (On/Off)—and while the alarm hand can be a little finicky when you're setting it, once you get it dialed in, it's rock solid and hard to mess up. My best advice? Keep it on a dresser away from the bed. That way, you have to physically get up to turn it off, which kills any urge to hit snooze and fall back asleep. It’s the only clock that has actually gotten me up in the morning without fail. If you’ve been struggling with this as long as I have, save yourself the frustration and just get this one.

Traditional old school alarm. We have it set across the room to help encourage our teen to wake up for school. It's loud and the pitch is annoying enough to force them out of bed to turn it off and hence get up for the day

When I retired, I tossed out my alarm clock and then became a grandparent who eagerly babysits the grandchildren. I often have to wake up at 3AM and drive 20 miles to where I babysit or 4:00AM on the days they come to my house. This alarm is very basic and easy to use. It is very easy to set the time and to turn the alarm on and off, too.
