Spent some coin this year to up my recording game on the bike and at meets. Had an x3 before. Sucked. Returned it last year. Got this x5 last week and could not be happier. Super intuitive and they really stepped it up on this one. Battery lasted for hours on end recording at all times for our 4th of july festivities. It’s super solid in your hands and just has that “feel” to it that every high end electronic device has these days. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $600 on it but when it went on prime sale i didn’t hesitate. Not that it isn’t worth $600 but that was still a little steep for me when i was also spending so much extra money on everything else to go with it. Probably about a grand into it especially with how dang much memory cards cost these days. I do have to say tho that it would still be worth every penny at full price. Resolution is insane, so are all the corrective shooting functions to use it as a normal camera without the fisheye. Menu selections are super simple and i like the little tips in the menus when you’re re-learning everything. Super helpful. Couldn’t be happier with it. Got a ton of accessories with it when i bought it; couple extra batteries (under estimating how serious they were with their new battery life ratings), screen protector, lens protector, cage, the works. Def set up for a summer of fun now. Can’t wait to see how the new mic also does at highway speeds.

Excellent combo; grips connects to X5, indicating that you are in photo mode (changing settings for you), plus has a working shutter button.
