Don't need much.. I've been adding 1-2TSP per 5gallon during DWC res changes with great results. Doesn't change your PPM or PH. Keeps roots healthy. Update : This stuff really works. Look how white and healthy these DWC roots are.. I use Hydroguard with my semi-hydro plants and it’s made a noticeable difference. My roots look a lot healthier and I’ve had fewer issues with rot. It’s not a miracle potion, but it definitely helps keep everything stable.

Amazing product: makes hydroponics much easier. All you need to do is not nutrient burn your plants after adding this stuff. Keep in a cool dry place and will last for years. Also works as a hot composting innoculant with OUTSTANDING results. Literally overnight started cooking the bad guys out of a rotting layer that an arborist had sandwiched between the wood chips they dropped off.

So it is hard to rate this product. I'm not sure what effect it should have. BUT this is what I have observed. I moved from a bunch of Aerogarden and Salad Box grows to one large integrated system where the water flows from plant to plant. We had a fire, lost the mud room in the rebuild due to budget. I decided one large system would be far more attractive in the public area of the house. After a while, things seemed to stop growing. In addition, I've had more trouble with aphids than ever before. I did research. My reading indicated that it is harder to balance the needs of a variety of plants rather than similar plants in small containers. They recommended a water additive such as this. The claim is that it makes nutrients more available to plants. One week after beginning to use with each watering the plants, especially greens, are growing nicely once again. Literally in two days most of the greens doubled in size. The tomatoes seem to be ripening more quickly. I see no difference in the aphids problem (it is summer and near the main door). Nor any difference in the herbs. I hope this information is helpful to others.

No mold, rot, infection at all. It's definitely working

Works great to slow down "stuff" from growing in the tanks of my automated watering system. It won't prevent it entirely, but stays much cleaner for longer than water alone. And with about 1/2 teaspoon per gallon, a little goes a long way.

My roots shifted from brown to white when using this.

Came when it should and product was well pkg.

It works alright. If you're not running a water cooler you may still run into root rot with it. Still have a large quantity left after a grow, however, I switched over to sterile. I now use UC roots which is expensive aswell, but proves to be more user friendly and seems to be the only way to avoid root rot in dwc, for me anyways. I do not use a water cooler/chiller and so far, no problems with my roots on this grow.
