Eventually Dried Up - I fixed that
I really love this paste. Especially great on my carving chisels. Works Great. Like others, mine dried up into a cake. I broke this up as best I could with a screw driver into very small fine pieces. The jar says Ammonia and Naphtha had been added. Had some on hand so I decided to give it a try. The paste is NOT cheap. I put 1/2 teaspoon each of Ammonia and Naphtha in the jar and worked it back into a paste with a small stick. Just like new. We'll see how long it lasts, but it put a great shine on my plane blade. Not sure the jar is as air tight as it could be. I might not be using it up fast enough. Beats throwing it out.

Perfect for the final touch on hard steels.
I use a leather strop and a tiny dab of this paste. 10 strokes and razor sharp!

Arrived a bit dry. Added a bit of mineral oil. Super good after
Like others, this arrived a bit dried up. I contacted the manufacturer directly and they said to add just a little mineral oil. After a maybe 5 drops I worked it in with a toothpick, then applied to a leather belt. This finish step polished the scratch marks on the working edge and was clearly visible under the microscope. I had originally picked this up for kitchen knives, as my daily carry is just a gerber folding box knife. I decided to try the paste on the Lenox razors and could also see substantial improvement on factory new blades - only took 20 seconds. Customer for life now.

It is as good as advertised.
The paste was delivered as scheduled. I put a small amount on the leather strap, rubbed it in for two minutes on half the leather, and voilà after three passes on each side, my knife was “scary” sharp. I only wish that it was a bigger jar for the cost of 1.5 ounces. However, I will buy it again and again.

Trend Diamond Paste
polishes plane blade bevels very well, and quicky, but is expensive

Almost perfect
Like other reviewers, it arrived dry. A little irked that now I have to spend more money to rejuvenate a brand new, little pricey jar

My jar cane with the paste almost solidified. I contacted Trend and they recommended I add a few drops of mineral oil. It worked great and the oil also helps to nourish the leather strop. It seems to adhere better to leather that's been conditioned. On dry leather, the paste becomes a fine powder that rubs away. With just 1 application, I can strop till the strop becomes black and shiny from being loaded up with metal particles. Using a simple pencil eraser, the shiny surface becomes matte again (but still dark grey) and I can continue to strop without adding more paste. Very aggressive and easily beats (by several orders or magnitude) green chromium oxide in speed, edge refinement and polish. Gentle stropping that takes forever? Not anymore, girlfriend. I strop hard and my knives' edges are sharper than they've ever been. And that's straight from a 2$ (yes, 2 dollars) 400-ish grit soaking stone. Definitely the best stropping compound I've ever used.

If you want "glassy sharp" edges, this is the stuff for you. My standard sharpening stones go to a 8000 grit but if you are sharpening a straight razor or special blade and want that ultra-smooth edge, get some of this stuff and apply it judiciously (in accordance with safety instructions) to a decent quality leather strop, employ carefully and you will get that wonderful ultra-smooth finish. Really impressed.

Made a leather strop to use this on for sharpening woodworking tools and a couple of kitchen knives. I’ve never managed to get as sharp an edge as I can now. And with so little effort. I use two grades of diamond stone (medium and fine) and then the strop. Five minutes and I’ve got a razor edge again! This paste cuts faster and nicer than the usual stropping compounds.

Good product, as description. Quite economical despite its cost.
