Jacquard Color Remover is a liquid formula designed to safely remove dyes and stains from natural fabrics, rayon, and some nylons by requiring high heat activation. Unlike bleach, it preserves fabric integrity while effectively whitening, making it ideal for professional and DIY fabric careโthough it is not suitable for polyester and demands careful temperature control.

Works pretty well on nylon, if you follow the instructions
I used this on a nylon hat which I wanted to whiten a bit to turn back the sun. Bleach eats cotton, and oxyclean just wasn't doing the trick, so I tried this instead. It did actually work - not incredibly well, but enough to make the hat noticeably whiter and cooler. Had to just about boil it, though, and for more than ten minutes at that. Also had to use about 10% per weight to get the desired effect - for me that was about 5g for a 50g hat. Naturally, the hat shrank and now does not fit my head, but I'll just order another one size up and try it again.

Don't bother.
Terrible. To make it work ( supposedly), is an ordeal. Too complicated and demanding.

Tedious and time consuming but well worth it!!
Great color remover. I had recently dyed a dress that was see through but the dye came out patchy and I was mortified. I thought I would have to buy another dress but I came across this color remover. The dress I used it on was a rayon and spandex blend. It was originally light gray but I dyed it black with Dylon fabric dye. I was surprised that it worked so well and restored it to its original light gray color. I'm very happy, and can't wait to use it again. I did not use the stovetop method on the instructions. I used very hot water and a basin. I stirred it as it says on the instructions and made sure the water was always very very hot. Super happy it worked and saved my dress. Also, it does not work on polyester. Not sure if it's in the description box but I only found out when I read it on the bottle. Overall, although it was tedious and time consuming to do it worked perfectly. Awesome product!

and there is a document at Jaquard's product website that does a great job of explaining this
Color removers are always a gamble. Different dyes react differently to color removal and in very few instances will you ever be able to remove color to white; a yellow base can affect the final color if over-dyeing.. This is not bleach. Bleaching and color removal are two different chemical processes, and there is a document at Jaquard's product website that does a great job of explaining this, as well as giving some general and blue jeans/indigo pointers. I found this product removed Jacquard acid dye as well as I could expect from a batch of 100% wool yarn I had dyed, from dark gray to yellowish. What I didn't expect was for it to significantly alter the texture of the yarn. I use Hobby Lobby "I Love This Wool" for most of my dyeing projects because I find the white/natural skeins do not felt and this may be because of bleaching during processing. I'm not sure if this is why the yarn reacted this way to the color remover, but I will be more careful when using it for anything else. After hand washing, that skein is basically toast; it's lost most of its loft and is fairly scratchy now. If you are using this on anything that isn't already a lost cause like my skein of cheap yarn up there, TEST A SMALL SECTION FIRST. You never know how a particular fabric or dye is going to react to another chemical and if you aren't willing to throw the whole thing in the trash, TEST A SMALL SECTION FIRST.

Didnt worm
Didn't work to remove colors. May have not been the fault of the product but frustrating nonetheless.

It WORKS! It's MAGICAL!!
This stuff totally works... who knew?! I had an ugly red slipcover that I wanted to dye charcoal, but I knew it would come out burgundy unless there was some way to get the red out. I clicked on Amazon, searched for color remover (not knowing if such a thing existed... I live under a rock), and this stuff popped up. I thought it must be a trick, but NOPE! It WORKS! I mean, it didn't turn it white or anything, but it was creamy enough that the charcoal dye I'd already purchased turned that ugly slipcover into something I could keep.
