Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad

Where has this been all my backpacking life??! Let me start of by saying how much better this is than the big name sleeping pads and mats which are glorified yoga pads. The comfort this provides is leagues above them. Sure, it probably won't last as long, it is a bit more expensive, and I can't just throw it on a log and be ready, but it is worth it for a good night sleep. The claim of 10-15 breaths which I was incredibly skeptical of is completely true! I was used to blowing up air mattresses which take 15-30 minutes of non-stop puffing and this thing is the exact opposite. I'm a healthy 6 foot guy and it takes exactly 10 breaths for this to be fully inflated. I found though that 9 breaths is more comfortable as the pad has a bit more give and so feels softer while laying on it. I never knew pads like this existed and I'm so glad I do now! To pull this out of the bag it travels in in my backpack (along with a patch kit), unroll and unfold, blow up, and put in my tent takes 1 minute flat. To put back up I open the valve and roll it up quickly, unroll it, fold it in half twice lengthwise and then roll it up. There is no fighting trying to stuff this back into the back, it fits right in perfect every time. When in the sack it is the size of a nalgene bottle and weights only 18 ounces. Simply amazing! The nozzle is very high quality and is extremely easy to open, close, and blow into. I have no double it will last forever. The pad itself is also incredible strong and I really doubt I'll ever get a hole so long as I only use it in my tent, with a footprint, and properly clear the area. I'll never go backpacking without one of these pads again. Lightyears ahead of anything I knew about only a few short years ago.

I was truly hesitant to spend 70 dollars on a sleeping pad. Now after purchasing my only complaint is I wish I had done it sooner. This is the most comfortable sleeping pad I have had. Ive had alot. I live in Oregon and spend as much time in the mountains as I can get away with. Camping, backpacking, I have used this in my hammock, on the ground, and with my cot. I really love it. Alot. UPDATE: Been using this pad for about a year now. I camp in all climates and conditions, i have a poor back, probably in part due to my strenous outdoor activity, i usually sleep in my eagles nest hammock now when backpacking or camping but i also have a tent and cot when im in an area unsutiable for a hammock. Now a hammock is the best nights sleep you can get in my opinion, i have never woke up to a sore back in my hammock with or without my Klymit Static V pad. The great thing about the static v is even when i am sleepin on my cot and even on the ground my back may be a little stiff but doesnt hurt like it used to when i wake up. Seriously i have had to cut a trip short and come down the mountain due to back pain. Not so with this pad, even if i am cuttin wood and hauling logs i may go to bed with a sore back but i wake up in better condition than when i retired and with a few stretches am ready to have a great day in the forest. I will never buy another pad, unless Klymit can improve the Static V. HIGHLY RECCOMEND. 2ND UPDATE: Still going strong. Still the most comfortable pad i have had the pleasure of owning. If i am not sleeping in a bed, i am sleeping on this Klymit. Backpacked and car camped well over a dozen trips since purchasing and i have no complaints. Well one. It seems the price has dropped a bit since i purchased this, it was worth the 60$ or 70$ i paid and is an absolute STEAL at 50$. Please do yourself and your body a favor and purchase this pad for you next trip. Happy backpacking, and please remember to KEEP IT GREEN. 3rd Final Update Still have my Klymit Static V pad, as well as a few other klymit products. Check out the inflatable x pillow. 😍. Anyway, this just past summer my pad seemed to have finally developed a slow leak somewhere. Its still my favorite camp pad, well sleeping pad really. This sleep pad lasted me several years. Around 5 years i think. I think thats commendable for any type of sleep pad, and incredible for an inflatable one! Im sorry mine has developed a leak finally but i am glad i purchased it. I havent tossed it out, i may try to find and remedy the leak. If i dont, or can not fix it I can say with honest confidence that i absolutely will be purchasing another Klymit inflatable. I still loudly reccomend Klymit and its products. I have a few of their things and they all perform amazingly. Thank you Klymit, your one of my favorite outdoor equipment companies.

Tuve oportunidad de usar la colchoneta hace unos días en un campamento de 2 noches en la huasteca potosina y no tengo más que buenos comentarios para el producto. Es muy pequeño cuando está empacado, pesa alrededor de 350 gramos así que no es un producto particularmente ligero, lo que sí es que es perfectamente funcional para dormir cómodamente. Se infla muy rápido con la válvula grande que tiene. Probablemente se infle en unas 7 u 8 exhalaciones, para nada terminas cansado o mareado. Tal vez sea un poco caro en primer instancia, pero había utilizado colchonetas inflables de la marca Intex y este las supera por mucho, en primer lugar es mucho más pequeño y ligero y, sobre todo, se infla muy fácil. Lo usé sobre un bajo sleeping de espuma delgada, como del tipo de espuma que se usa en los protectores de sol de los automóviles y funcionó perfectamente, si bien no es muy alto y pareciera que no vá a aislar las imperfecciones del terreno ya inflado está excelente, tiene buen soporte y uno duerme muy cómodo, ya sea boca arriba, boca abajo o incluso de lado. No puedo más que recomendarlo, yo batallo muchísimo para dormir en los campamentos pero esta colchoneta vale cada peso, mejor invertir un poco más que en una colchoneta sencilla de otras marcas. Incluso trae un pequeño kit para reparar ponchaduras, y un costalito para guardarlo. Realmente recomendable, no se van a arrepentir y van a descansar muy bien.

Excelente pad, un mes en Europa acampando y funcionó a la perfección

Habe die Klymit Static V letzten Oktober/November beim Campen dabei gehabt. Mit einer robusten Isolierdecke drunter oder ähnlichem war das keinerlei Problem. Ich habe es allerdings auch nicht ohne probiert, kann also gar nicht sagen, wie sich die Klymit alleine schlägt. Vom Handling und Komfort her ist sie ein Traum. Sie ist ratzfatz aufgeblasen, mit 12-15 Atemzügen ist sie prall gefüllt und nachdem man sich das Ventil mal genauer angeschaut hat, kann man das auch super zumachen, ohne, dass die ganze Luft wieder rauszischt. Die Klymit ist super bequem. Trotz Seitschläferlage liegt man zu keiner Zeit auf dem Boden auf. Der Geräuschpegel beim Umdrehen ist vernachlässigbar. Hat man dann aus Versehen 10 Stunden entspannt darauf genächtigt und ringt sich durch, aufzustehen, weil es eine gewisse Notdurft doch gebietet ;) , ist sie super schnell und ohne große Anstrengungen wieder verstaut. Die Luft geht ohne Probleme wieder raus und man kann sie einfach in ihre kleine, leichte (!!!), handliche Transportform zurückversetzen. Falls doch einmal ein Loch oder ähnliches zustande kommen sollte, ist ein kleines Reparatur-Kit dabei und im Transportbeutel integriert, was letztlich auch dafür sorgt, dass es nicht abhanden kommt und zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort ist...!^^ Also Fazit: Super Teil. Absolut empfehlenswert. Erstklassiges Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. :)
