I found the magnets slightly weaker than I like and was able to place a strong refrigerator magnet next to both the mouths and the hook to make the magnetic attraction slightly stronger. This is a useful tip should the magnets become shocked from being thrown or swung sharply against a rigid surface. Weaker magnets are not as shock resistant as strong magnets. Strong magnets can pose a safety issue for children, especially if swallowed, so the magnets in this set seem ideal for children.
