Use the power formula P = I x E 200w = I x 120v or 200 divided 120 I = 1.66 amps 12 gage power cord will handle 15 amps Good to go!

Yes. One end goes to your battery. Red positive black to negative.OR your fuse block. The fuse block probably is better because it is fused.

would this work on a battery to a trolling motor?

I doubt it if the draw is over a couple of amps.
