Makes teeth nice and clean, and seems it has helped my gums significantly! Mouth is healthier!
As with all of Christophers stuff, I love this tooth powder! My teeth have felt better ever since using it. Lasts a long time. Decent taste, although I have to admit a bit of a minty flavor or freshness would be a bonus, however they're the master herbalists! So, I can't complanin...health more important than vanity. Can always make some homemade mouthwash to freshen breath after brushing teeth. Leaves teeth nice and clean, and gums MUCH healthier.

Helping heal my periodontitis and abcessed gums
I honestly don't know how I lived without this herbal tooth powder before. I'll be even more honest and say my dental hygiene practices were horriffic. Since I was a young girl, I've struggled with gingivitis and foul breath due to improper diet and lack of proper hygiene. Well, over the years, this progressed to moderate periodontis. Being a weed smoker who also uses tobacco wraps, this fueled the progression of the disease, yet masked the full effect of my bad habits. I had bleeding gums for awhile that disappeared so I thought I handled it fully. Nope. One day I wake up with a toothache so bad my head was pounding from the pain. I was in bed with a fever wondering what the hell was going on. Looked in the mirror and saw my gum had abcessed and was infected. I don't have health insurance, so I was like d*mn, I've gotta handle this myself because I don't have $2000 to see a dentist. I attend the school Dr. C founded, and I was terrified to handle this myself, but I didn't have a choice. I went ahead and created a very aggressive plan because I obviously had moderate/advanced periodontitis coupled with infection. I bought floss, new toothbrushes, a water flosser, mouthwash with Echinacea and Goldenseal, oregano oil capsules, Dr. Christophers tooth powder, Dr. C's Infection Formula, Dr. C's Tissue and Bone capsules, castor oil, green tea, black walnut extract, and activated charcoal. First things first, I stuffed my affected areas with green tea bags to bring the abcess to head. Within 30 minutes of the green tea poultice, my abcess started to drain! This relieved so much pain! I started to use coconut oil with tea tree oil to do oil pulling every morning. I added the tooth powder to a mouthwash and used 6 times daily. I also made a paste out of this powder and packed it into my gums every night for 1 week as well as brushing 3x daily with the tooth powder. The clove in the formula really helps to numb irritation in the gums so I was pumped about that. I also brushed with a combo of castor and charcoal to pull toxins from the gums and mouth. Let me just say, I realized more than ever how important being aggressive and consistent is in herbalism. Within 2 weeks, my gums were more pink than they'd been since I was 9 years old. (I'm 27 now). My tooth has started to go back to its original position (tooth had shifted to due loose gums, abcess, plus being damaged in a motorcycle accident that knocked it even looser, lucky me!), my gums aren't itching, and my teeth are 3 shades whiter. I was a believer before, now I'm an herbal bible thumper. Haha. Buy this powder, I've replaced toothpaste completely with this powder and my teeth, gums, and mouth have never felt cleaner and more nourished. Plus, its helping me to clear up this gum disease. My Mom bought this after I was raving about it, and also experienced fresher breath, tighter gums, and more pinkness in the gums, rather than dark spots.

this stuff is AWESOME
UPDATE: 7 24 2014 - I LOVE this stuff and put it into many of my homemade concoctions. Everything listed in the ingredients turns out to be great for skin and hair as well. I put 1/4 t. in my 4 oz hair pomade that I make with WAXELENE, shea butter, vegetable glycerin, essential and carrier oils. I don't have an exact recipe, I just use whatever feels right and look for my desired consistency. I use 1/4 t. in my 8 oz body butters, which I sometimes use on my face. I haven't noticed any staining to sheets, etc., but it is ground up herbs and spices so if you're going to follow suit, keep that in mind. You wouldn't want to put too much in, since ground herbs and spices likely will not sink into skin but their benefit is absorbed. I don't notice any residue on my skin or in my hair afterward so who knows. Maybe it absorbs too? I don't know. I do know, that our skin and hair are better. We glow more, break out less and the texture of hair and skin (including face) is much better since using. I am African American and the hair pomade I make with this is AWESOME. I suppose that if one does not 'grease' their scalp or hair, they could still mix some into hair conditioner. I don't recommend for light hair because I don't know if it could stain. You'd have to test that yourself. You can also use it to make a mask for your face or add it to an already made mask or facial moisturizer. For facial moisturizer, I'd use 1/8t or less, depending on the size of the jar. Works excellent! Seems to help tighten pores, smooth and soothe skin. Less breakouts. I believe it is helping to keep my skin young. As far as use for the teeth, my gums do not bleed when I use this consistently and they feel more grounded (tightened). I had a tooth pulled and I believe it has accelerated healing. At first my teeth seemed brighter, then began to look stained, as well as my toothbrush. I remedied this by brushing with baking soda or toothpaste every so often. I like Rembrandt Deeply White. It too, does not leave any film in my mouth like many other toothpastes do. As far as the toothbrush, I learned to live with the light staining. I rinse the brush as well as I can and soak it in blue Listerine now and again. I also replace the brush heads more often. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I didn't have any issues with the taste. As soon as I opened the container, the smell of the herbs made me smile. The aroma was very pleasant to me. While this product is not for everyone, I enjoyed it very much and found it hard to stop brushing. I eat LOTS of sugar. In my tea, coffee, flavored coffee, etc. I do use a lot of raw honey and when I buy sugar, it's evaporated cane juice. I buy fresh herbs a lot because my apartment does not get the sun I would need to grow them. I do grind my own spices though, and very often. I drink many different teas, among them, Bengal Spice at least once per week, which may explain why I like the taste of this tooth powder. I'll have to update this post when I finish the container as to how well it works but so far, so good. I like the smell, I like the taste, it rinses right off my brush so I haven't experienced any staining to my teeth or toothbrush. I especially like the fact that there is no white film left behind, which I always get when I use commercial paste and I can eat right away after brushing. With commercial paste, I have to wait to eat, otherwise I can't taste my food over all the mint, etc. My teeth feel clean, but naturally clean. I wish I had found this before I had a tooth pulled. I may have been able to save it. It is way overpriced because all the herbs and spices on it's ingredient list are not expensive. I'd make it myself if I knew what quantities to use. As it is, I do not, so if I find that this works, I will continue to use. Hope this helps.

After reading many reviews about this stuff, I decided to buy it for my mom; her gums have begun receding terribly now for awhile and and she begun to has serious problems with her teeth. She says it doesn't taste very good, but it has made a huge difference in her gums and teeth. Her gums are improving and the receding has stopped. She even made me buy more of this stuff.

My gums were inflamed and had that receding sensation. After first use, I felt the natural ingredients make a instant difference and helped ease my discomfort after 3rd use pain was gone. I will no longer use toothpaste now. I highly recommend this product. I have introduced this to my household (children 8 and 9 and grandpa 70yrs old) now and we all love it!

I bought this because I was told by a naturopath that it could help my daughters teeth remineralize so far I haven’t noticed a different and it’s very hard to get her to brush with it. Taste horrible.

Highly recommend giving this product a go if you have receded gums. Give it a week or two to show results. I had a gap above my tooth where my gum had receded. After nearly two weeks I ran my tongue over that tooth when I woke up and there was no gap. Checked the mirror - the gum had returned. I was amazed it worked so quickly. I am extremely happy with this product and I now use this in place of regular toothpaste. Like other reviews, wet the toothbrush and dip in the powder, tap off excess. It is not rough/gritty like dirt, more like a ground nutmeg texture. Doesn’t taste and smell foul like neem. Very mild mint taste. A mouth wash will finish the job.
