My 8-year-old son absolutely loves chess, but since no one else in our family really plays, it was hard for him to find a partner. Even though he’s enrolled in an online chess class, he still needed a physical way to practice his moves. This electronic chess board has been the perfect solution! It is ideal for beginners like him, and the LED lights that guide the moves are incredibly helpful for learning and visualizing the game. I especially love that it doesn’t require an internet connection, so he can use it anywhere—even when we’re out or traveling. Overall, it’s been a very worthwhile purchase. I’m a beginner chess player. I bought it so I could lose and learn in peace. So far so good, on the losing. Learning is TBD. Use interface is clean enough, the LED display was the most appealing of the ones I saw. Games have gone smoothly, at least in the mode I’m in. I use the “training” mode, which warns against whether you put your pieces in imminent danger. Some of the mistakes the computer makes at the lower levels are too clearly intentional to be appreciated. The board can be a little finicky if the pieces are RIGHT in the middle of the tile… like, it’s not difficult to align them, but there is zero grace for pieces sliding away. Just know you’re not playing electronically if you don’t have the magnetized pieces. The game will stop and ask where those pieces are. Build quality: the equipment is reasonably constructed. Not exactly sturdy - won’t be doing any drop tests - but it seems like it’ll last some time. The pieces are on the smaller side and lackluster in character. Very basic pieces. This was $160 but feels like it should’ve been priced lower.

First and foremost, I love the e-ink screen. It's easy on the eyes and prevents cheating or illegal moves. This chess computer can record the moves, detect violations, and even suggest the best moves and their advantages and disadvantages. It has multiple modes, suitable for various age groups. For example, the training mode helps beginners quickly learn the basics, especially making it easier for children to become immersed in this hobby. The human-computer battle mode allows for continuous practice, steadily improving skills, solving endgames, and gaining more experience, all while providing a more realistic and engaging experience. I will continue to develop more interesting methods for my children to learn in the future. Overall, this chess computer is not only for family entertainment but also for improving chess skills, and it makes a great gift!

Purchase this product because it got good reviews. But as I’m reading the instructions of how to play this game versus the AI. I noticed that it specifically talked about the game, locking up and getting messed up.. I thought this was just a in case something happens every now and then. Love what I found out is that after playing about 10 games against the AI on different levels. That the computer locks up occasionally is hard to figure out how to get it back to where you can move. Sometimes it doesn’t allow certain pieces to be moved. That should be able to be moved. I am not very impressed with this product. It’s cheap flimsy plastic and it has a hard time determining if you set a piece down and pick it up. It gets confused very easily. You have to hit the back button a lot to get it to go back to the previous move, hoping that you can remake the move and then continue own with a game the way you were planning on it, but in a lot of cases, it doesn’t happen. This in my opinion is a definite do not buy this poorly designed and poorly put together electronic chest set. You can occasionally get it to play through a game without any issues but there’s more issues than there should be lots of bugs in the computer that is playing poorly designed is all I can say.

Great electronic chess set! The board is well made and the pieces are sturdy and nice to handle. It’s very fun and convenient to play, and the built-in computer makes it great for practice. Perfect for both kids and adults. Highly recommended! ♟️

This chess board is perfect for beginners in chess. I have been teaching my 2 & 4 year old and they have been catching on pretty well. The light up display helps teaching them where each piece goes & where theyre able to go. The magnetics are strong enough to where it holds if the kids accidentally push it. I really like this because you can also challenge a computer or have it as a 2 player game :)

I can say this is a very great value because it's very durable electronic, which is very functional and allowing beginners to learn the game and it's very portable. I can take this anywhere I want. I have taken this to work and played this with coworkers and we had a great time.
