No. This is a 1 micron water filter. To be effective it would need to be .01-.05 micron. 1 micron is 1000 nanometers. Viruses are the smallest airborne microbes, ranging in size from .01 to 0.3 microns (10 to 300 nanometers).

I am not sure if you sent the wrong size I ordered the 100 µm water will not flow through it the singed back is stopping the flow?

A) How much water are you trying to push through it? If you have several gallons, or you have built a pressure vessel, then the weight/pressure will push the water through the filter, with particles caught and unable to pass. On the other hand, if you only have a pint or so of water, spread out over a square foot of filter, then surface tension will be stronger than gravity and the water won't go through. B) You will also want to use the singed side down - the water should enter the non-singed side and exit the singed side.

I would recommend the 50-100 micron as a prefilter
