Not bad for the price
I had my doubts at first with so many printers out there to choose from. Be sure to remove ALL packing materials and tapes. There’s a few places where those sneaky guys put some. Setup wasn’t too bad. Going on line to download a few things took me a few minutes to figure out but not too bad. Seems fairly user friendly. You will definitely need an internet connection for this printer to download drivers and manuals. Definitely download the manuals and register your product to ensure any warranty needs that may occur. I’ve only used the bottom paper tray feed so far. There’s a pull out tray to keep your prints off of the floor. This is the first printer I’ve had that had WiFi capability. That’s a cool feature there. So far so good. I ordered an extra set of ink cartridges. A set of ink cartridges comes with it. I wasn’t completely sure of that. Remember that this model doesn’t fax. Read the features you’re looking for before purchasing. Oh, one more thing, the display screen turns up to see it better looking down. It adjusts as you see it up to 90 degrees straight horizontal. Kind of nice rather than bending down to read it. I haven’t needed any tech support so far. Prints look good to me.

Great for everything, A+ machine
Before purshasing I did a crazy amount of research on all the Canon, Brother and HP models. Got this as a home printer at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, which the main printing being letter but also a fair amount of large format 11x17 (ledger) spreadsheets. Have also printed photos to frame in 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10. Print quality and functionality is excellent across the board. This thing is not small and takes up a fair amount of desk space, but that comes with the territory if you want large format printing. It does eat ink at a decent clip, but I just order off-brand cartridges at a fraction of the cost and have had no issues to date. There is only one tray, so the best approach is to keep one size in the tray and one in the rear load. I keep letter in the tray, ledger in the rear and for the few times I need legal I just swap out the rear load. Duplex works great and scanning is also pretty good - has options to save to file, load into an email, ectetera. I've had no problems at all printing from WIFI as some reviews claimed - wifi sync has been flawless from computers and phones. the unit wakes up from a sleep and prints when I hit print - you just have to keep the panel open. Bottom line if you want something compact or the cheapest ink option this isn't for you, but if your priority is maximum flexibility, features and solid performance this is your machine.

Easy to set up and to use
Choosing a printer/scanner to go with my 2020 M1 Macbook Air was a lot harder than choosing a laptop, but after much research and procrastination I went with the Canon PIXMA TS9520 and so far I have not regretted that choice. My very old HP device was not able to connect to my current network (although it did at a previous residence) so as a back-up I wanted a machine that could be connected to the laptop via a cable. They don't include the cable, but I purchased one from Amazon. So far I have not needed it. From box to completion it was a little over an hour for a mechanically/technologically challenged grandma. Connecting to my network was a breeze (it didn't even ask for the password!), the ink cartridges went in easily, and the only issue I had was that the paper cartridge looked nothing like the paper cartridges my HP printers have had and I couldn't find it! I finally went online and found a youtube video that walked me through the process. In less than 90 minutes after I opened the box I had printed a test page and scanned a document. The automatic document feeder was very easy to use as well. The only negative I can report (and the reason I gave it four stars instead of 5) is that apparently this printer does not print labels (except for labels on printable CDs). I wish it did, but I can get along without that function. If you need to print address labels or lots of file folder labels that would be a problem. I think the adhesive backing is the issue. The documents it has printed for me are clear -- no smudges. I don't print photos or do much color printing, so I am hoping that most of the time I'll just have to replace the PGBK cartridge rather than the color ones. That is much less expensive. You can check the ink levels either on the display panel or on your computer (in Settings on a Mac). But Canon won't highjack your printer the way HP's Instant Ink seems to. At least I hope not!

A Perfect Card Crafter Printer
I love this printer as it has a back tray that will print up to 12x12 cardstock paper. Due to MY fault, I had to replace my old TS9520 printer with a new one. This printer is hard to find. The setup was easy and even though it comes with a dvd to download the software do not frett. My PC does not have a cd player in it and I was able to download the software directly from the Canon website. Since I live in Florida, humidity with paper took a toll on my older printer. With my new printer, I will now load paper from the back tray when I am ready to print documents. Also I will not leave paper in the cassette tray until I am ready to print due to the humidity. It accepts 3rd party ink cartridges in the printer if you want to save $$ on cartridges but still recommends using Canon cartridges. I have had NO issues using 3rd party cartridges. I have Xfinity internet and had no issues with connecting via Wifi. This has no fax so I do a lot of print and scan documents only.
