Really impressed
Pros: I have had this belt grinder for over 2 weeks now and I have given it plenty of use. I bought it primarily for restoring 2 old heavy-duty survival knives. Seeing the set-ups professionals use for the same tasks I didn’t have much faith in this price bracket if I’m honest. I needn’t have worried as I really am impressed at how versatile this thing is. I have used it for the intended purpose and for: putting rounded corners on timber using the disc part, sharpening, filing, and grinding all sorts items, it’s use is endless. Setting up the resting plate for the belt sanding part was a bit fiddly but once done that’s it, you only need to change the angle to suit the job. It is compact and sturdy and has an extraction port for hoover attachment. Changing the belt is a doddle: 2 posi screws and a knob to remove the side plate (make sure it’s unplugged), there is 3 wheels inside the machine to feed the belt, pull the top wheel in towards you and the belt slackens, feed the new belt on using the same method. When putting the side panel back on I only use the screw knob to hold it in place and it holds it well (I’m not recommending you do this) this makes belt changes so much faster. I really don’t know how I have managed to be without one of these belt grinders for so long, it is so versatile.

Great value for money.
Whilst this isn't, by any stretch, a professional grade belt sander, you can still do an awful lot with it. I've used it to make knives and shape handles quite effectively. The belt chatter is reasonably low but the motor isn't particularly powerful - you can stop it with your hands so go gentle on the pressure and take it slow (good advice anyway). I recommend you buy yourself a bunch of spare belts and discs. Use in a very well ventilated area and bear in mind that dust/debris will go *everywhere* so wear protective gear. The dust collection leaves something to be desired and the dust ports seem to be inconsistent and funny sizes - I don't bother with them. It's a bit of a shame that it only comes with one belt and one disc though. Sadly the disc is stuck on, not attached with hook-and-eye material but it's still good. Sturdy platforms that can get pretty accurate grinds. All-in-all, a good compromise for the price.

Brilliant
I have been looking for a compact sander for many years and then I saw this, I build models and I find it really excellent solid and steady, good bit of kit. Would recommend.

More powerful than the size suggests
Bought this to replace a much larger "traditional" belt & disc sander combo. I was a little nervous about downgrading, but I had to make some space on my work bench. I absolutely don't regret it for a second. This sander is excellent - powerful, controllable and it even has vents to shove a vacuum cleaner pipe into (which works incredibly well). I would say this is the perfect sander combination for a hobbyist, but if you're looking at sanding large planks etc you'll need something bigger

Sturdy, easy to use sander
A bit fiddly to set up but once done this is a great little sander. The choice of 2 sander types is good for all sorts of sanding jobs and shapes. Compact so it doesn't take up too much room in the workshop but also sturdy enough for most jobs. As with most sanders definitely recommended attaching dust extraction. I really don't know what I would do without it!! Definitely recommended.
