785 1/8" Tubing Bender

I had some 5/32 copper tubing to bend for a project that required 8 very precise return bends, and this is the tool for the job. Very easy to use with reproducible bends each time. I tried bending by hand (and even handmade a 5/32 bender) but couldn't get the perfect bends each time, and was sometimes having to re-anneal in the middle of a bend. This solved my problem. The only thing that I'd add is the need to use a bit of a lubricant on the metal to help slide it out after bending. Believe it or not- lard works well. Hope this helps you!

Works for me... on a brass, soft tubing application... probably won’t do a lot of steel or aluminum tubing bends before breaking... good on brass... copper is tougher. I want a smaller radius still, so it’s ok, but not a solution.... I bought a few systems and this one is good compared to those... a modified jig will likely be my final solution.

I would suggest that the seller change the picture in the ad, as this is for a single bender. Not two as pictured. One other suggestion would be that the ad state that the bender is for “anealed (softened) brass”. They do state that on the package, and their website, as well as instructions how to do that yourself

Decent, but with some issues: The product itself is well made, it's nice it comes with some test tubes, but I had a few major issues. First of all, the fact that the head is plastic is an issue, it bends the thinn brass tubes fine, but I tried to bend some stainless steel tube of the same dimensions and it was very hard, to the point I think repeat use would break the plastic. My second, larger issue is that you cannot make bends on the same plane because the handle gets in the way. I got this specifically to make RC control arms. I need short bends on each end of a short tube both pointing the same way. Thats impossible with this because once you make the first bend you cannot put it in the bender to make the second because the handle hits the first bend you made. IT basically means you can only make a single bend, or off plane compound bends. I wish i could have used it, or that the handles came off or had an upward cant to them to clear the tube, but they dont so it simply cant do what I need.

The 4 stars is appropriate. I have used 1/8" brass tubing and it bends a beautiful, tight bend and doesn't disfigure the brass, However, I mostly use 1/8" brass ROD, not tubing, and it needs to be heated in order to bend. The handles are aluminum, but the part in the middle is plastic. Heated brass melts it. I wish it were aluminum, as well. As someone else mentioned, some marks to help with alignment would be beneficial. All in all, this is a handy tool, but could stand to be a bit more robust. I am surprised with its durability, despite the melting factor.

Looks interesting, I love the small diameter of the bends. As stated by others, I only got one and the pic shows two!
