The X-Men excitement begins with the action-packed original film trilogy, featuring superstars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and more! In X-MEN, a group of mutant outcasts learn to control their powers at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Then in X2: X-MEN UNITED, the X-Men must join forces with their deadliest enemies to prevent the destruction of all mutants. And in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, the discovery of a controversial "cure" for genetic mutation triggers the war to end all wars! Review: The movies are great and are the roots that launched the comic book ... - This is the Blu Ray set to get. It has all of the extras that the new Blu Ray version omits. Each movie has it's own case and bonus disc which has making the film featuretts and interviews from X-Men comic writers. The movies are great and are the roots that launched the comic book movie Hollywood takeover. Fun fact Marvel's Kevin Feige was involved in all 3. X1 gets the best Blu Ray upgrade. Being a movie from 2000, it has been cleaned up greatly. X1 is a bit dated however. X2 is the premier movie in this set. Based on the popular God Loves Man Kills story arc this movie is widely considered the best of the original trilogy. Great action, special effects hold up surprisingly well (Nightcrawler's white house attack, so GOOD). Say what you will about Bryan Singer as a writer but when it comes to action scenes and camera position and camera shooting (LOOKIN AT YOU RUSSO BROTHERS WITH YOUR INABILITY TO SHOOT NON CLOSEUPS...) he's gold. In my not so humble opinion X2 ranks just as high as much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. X3.... Where to begin with this one. It's a maligned movie but I don't know if I'd call it bad per say...Every problem this movie has form their beginning with Fox's piece of crap former head Tom Rothman. This detestable man hates comic book movies. He cut the X1 and X2 budgets and advanced X1s release. Miracle it turned out so well. Greveous of all he chased Bryan Singer away from X3. Singer was working on Superman but Rothman wouldn't wait for him to finish it. Instead he rushed X3 into production to compete with Superman as some type of punishment. It wasn't ready actors were all busy Singer had taken Marsden (Cyclops) with him which is why he was in so little of X3 and also why a certain part in the early movie happened. X3 was set to start shooting and still had no director. Bret Ratner came in last minute to direct. Ratner wanted to adapt The Cure story arc from the comics. While Singer and his producers had been setting up Dark Phoenix in X2. See the problem...We ended up with an okish cure plot but Dark Phoenix set a new definition of butchering source material. The 2 stories just didn't mesh together. One or the other would have been better. That being said I still enjoy X3. It has the best action/powers effects of the original trilogy. It's cool. I like the fights scenes as well. And we can't leave out the awesome bridge scene. The movie has grown on me since it's been written out of current X-Men timeline lore. Knowing that these events are now a 'what if' scenerio make the film more watchable and enjoyable knowing that it no longer screws up the core team (see Days of Future Past). At least to me anyway. Review: A Great Boxset For The X-Men Fan... - What we have here is a simple boxset for the X-men Trilogy of movies. You get X-Men , X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. While the box-set itself is not very impressive, the quality of the DVDs is. The package comes in a simple laminated box with each DVD having its own standard sized case. Each disk looks great on my DVD player(1080p up-scaled) and the audio is crisp. SPECIAL FEATURES DISK 1: X-Men - Deleted Scenes** - Animatics - Art Gallery - Storyboards - Trailers & TV Spots - Hugh Jackman Screen Test - "Metant Watch" Featurette - Charlie Rose Interview **The Deleted Scenes are part of a 10 minute addition of the film. To view them you must watched the film in "Branching" Mode (in the options). This is perhaps the weakest part of the DVD as instead of smoothly transitioning the scenes into the movie they are loaded in. What this means is when a deleted scene comes up, the DVD stops playing a moment(black screen) and loads the deleted scene, which has the X-Men symbol in the corner. When finished the DVD goes to a black screen again and reloads where you were in the film. It makes for a very clunky play-through. On Older DVD's you could select the scenes individually. On the DVD I got you are unable to. Disk 2: X2: X-Men United - Audio Commentary by Bryan Singer & Newton Thomas Sigel - Audio Commentary by the Writers & Producers * Outside of the commentary there is no bonus features what-so-ever on the disk I received. The movie itself was great! Disk 3: X3: The Last Stand - Audio Commentary by Director/Screenwriters and Producers - Deleted Scenes - 3 Alternative Endings OVERALL: If you are looking to own all 3 movies then this set is a great deal, as you get all 3 movies for a fair price here. While this does not constitute a complete collection, since there are special features are missing (especially the 2nd movie) you can't go wrong with this set.

Primo perchè racchiude in sè i tre soli film della "linea" principale di storia, senza i vari spin-off come X-men - l'inizio o wolverine.. OTTIMA - Consigliata!

For myself, films like these are why we invest in 4k technology, with awesome special-effects (CGI) in all three films in the trilogy, certainly worth owning on this format. Key cast includes - Charles Xavier / Professor X (Patrick Stewart) Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto (Ian McKellen) Storm (Halle Berry) Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) Rogue (Anna Paquin) Cyclops (James Marsden) Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos ) Toad (Ray Park) Senator Robert Kelly (Bruce Davison) Colonel William Stryker: (Brian Cox) Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast (Kelsey Grammer) Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones) Pyro (Aaron Stanford ) Shadowcat (Ellen Page) From Marvel Comics - In the first of the trilogy we learn that once great friends Charles Xavier and Magneto now stand some distance apart in their strategies toward the so-called normal occupants of Earth, Charles wants to forge understanding, Magneto seems set on confrontation. Early on Logan (Wolverine) is attacked in his truck along with hitch-hiker Rogue by Magneto's minions but are saved by Cyclops and Storm and are taken to Xavier's school. Charles believes that Wolverine was the target and wants to investigate. However, Magneto will capture his real target eventually intending to use her as a weapon against World leaders. Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops attempt to save Rogue and prevent Magneto's plans.... In the second after an attack on the White House military scientist William Stryker convinces the president to investigate Xavier's Mutant School. Stryker's forces attack the school taking many of the student's prisoner, Colossus leads some to safety while Logan, Rogue, Iceman and Pyro escape. Meanwhile, shape-shifter Mystique helps Magneto to escape from jail. Strangely Magneto who learns of Stryker's intent to kill all Mutants will tell Logan and the team of Stryker's compound, a place that holds memories of the past for Wolverine. The race is on to rescue the captured students and prevent Stryker from achieving his aim. The team will struggle to get away from disaster after achieving their task and only the apparent self-sacrifice by Jean will help them escape the threatened territory. In the third, it emerges that the development of an Inoculation to suppress the X-Gene that give the Mutants their power has been developed, Magneto will gather his forces and more to go to war with the Government. Meanwhile, Scott travels to the lake where the love of his life had died saving her colleagues, however, Jean appears to Scott, but there is something different about her, Charles will have her placed in care and observation at the mansion. Jean unwittingly with extra powers will over-power Charles and indeed link-up with Magneto. The war begins, the government forces are no match against Magneto, Jean and his followers. In the spirit of Charle's memory, the few led by Wolverine will face Magneto in battle. Who will be lost? An action-packed trilogy well worth a second glance on the 4k format if you have access to it. Can Recommend the investment. Footnote - Other movies watched recently include - Mulan (2020) 9/10 (The best 'Live-remake' to date in my opinion) Plus two items reviewed on Blu-ray a while back - Concussion (4k) 9/10 Kong 'Skull Island' (4k) 8/10
