ADATA SU800 256GB Ultimate Internal Solid State Drive - ASU800SS-256GT-C

Value for money product, light weight,data transfer speed is normal, I have installed in my HCL laptop bought in 2008.

Firstly, the product is good. Amazon delivery was also fast and good. Thanks! What's useful to reviewers? First - If your motherboard supports NVME interface, go for that as that provides around 2 to 3 GB/s reads and writes (6 times faster than SATA) whereas SATA interface provides up to 500 MB/s reads and writes. My motherboard (10 year old gigabyte - GA-945gcmx-sa) is a really old one. Hence no NVME interface. Hence, bought this SATA based SSD. Second - For a slightly higher cost (like 500-1000 INR extra), if you get DRAM based SSD, go for it. ADATA SU800 is a DRAM based SSD. Other DRAM based SSD are Crucial MX500 series. If cost is a concern, you can go for DRAM less SSDs i.e. Crucial BX500 series, Seagate Barricuda series that do not have DRAM, even ADATA ones etc. The advantage is that if DRAM is present, it enables caching within the SSD and hence, its performance is better when you are using applications like Photo shop etc. which writes and reads small files. Lastly, installation was very smooth. I bought mounting rack (250 INR with deal) as shown in photo and SATA cables as nothing comes with the hard disk. The mounting rack is useful for desktop installations, but for laptop also, there are some caddys that can be bought. I was able to connect this new SSD along with my older HDD (Seagate slow speed one). I downloaded Windows 10 and installed it on the new SSD. There are a couple of points I would mention - one - Windows 10 iso file can be written to a USB if motherboard is USB bootable OR you can write it to a DVD with 8.5 GB (dual layer DVD). Then, DVD installation works. The other thing is that Windows 10 can be downloaded and installed for free from the official Microsoft website itself. You just need to click on 'I don't have product key'. Every thing works fine with some minimal restrictions. After installing Windows 10, I could see the difference with the Crystaldiskmark tool. The other HDD was giving a pathetic 3-4 MB/s read and write speed whereas now, with ADATA SU800, its improved to 250 MB/s . That's like a huge improvement and I can see that in the boot up time and general performance. The reason why it may not be giving close to 500 MB/s is that Gigabyte motherboard has max speed support of only 3 GB/s and not 6 GB/s. So its a motherboard thing. Overall, very happy with the product. This really upgrades my old 10 year old desktop to close to a newer desktop which can easily run windows 10 or ubuntu 20.04.

I must mention this first, the SSD was probably tampered, before it was sent to me by Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd.. The round sticky tape was already removed & was stuck on other place on the box. So, it seems like it was used before by someone. I ordered a new SSD & they probably sent me a refurbished or returned one, for the price of new. This is cheating. The SSD didn't have any scratches, but the sticker on the SSD had some. I thought about replacing, but I needed it urgently, so, I connected it to check if it's working & it is working, so, I've kept it now. But Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd. continue to disappoint me again. Amazon India should look into this. The 1 less star is only for the unsealed SSD they sent me. The SSD itself is awesome & rated 5-star, & is probably the cheapest SSD you can get which has DRAM caching buffer. I did some research & found that SSDs with DRAM are much better & durable than the DRAMless SSDs, which are cheaper, but will degrade & won't last longer if you write a lot of data on it. This is my first SSD I purchased & it was easy to install, & doesn't require any additional software or anything to work, I just wanted it for installing Windows OS on it, & the boot time is insanely fast now & all the startup programs load instantly, within a few seconds. It's so much faster & better than regular mechanical hard drives, I'll definitely replace all my hard drives with SSDs in the future.

Though earlier skeptical about Adata SU800 SSD, it proved to be far better than Samsung's 860 and 870 Sada. Boot time: Samsung 860 EVO: 10.3 Secs Samsung 870 QVO: 9.9 Secs Adata SU800: 5.4 Secs. Plus the time it takes to launch an application on Adata SU800 SSD is lesser than that on Samsung 860 & 870 and Kingston's NVME ssds. Overall, it's q good buy and great choice by far who are still on old laptops like me. Additional point: Installed Kali Linux and Fedora on the same SSD, boot time for both linux flavors were 3-4 secs

Test run on CDM Realworld profile (1GiB). The speed looks awesome and very close to the claimed transfer speed. Build quality is good. Mounting screw holes present both on the bottom and sides. The bottom part is metal which will help dissipate heat. Top part is quality plastic. It has in-built DRAM which will help to maintain speed and wear leveling so should run long. Lets see how it holds up on the long run. A quick note, though is obvious- The SSD don't come pre-formatted. So once you install the disk, open up Disk Management (Windows) and initialize / format the drive.

My earlier SDD was 120GB from ADATA and it unfortunately was too small for my increasing need for more software. I purchased this. I used the Acronis Truecopy OEM version provided by ADATA. But, it made an image but Windows 10 Pro license was not recognised by my PC. I had to call Microsoft to get it working. It is working great. I found it economic. You may use it for gaming, I use it for teaching.

Like:-- 1. Size is same as expected to replace my HDD disk from laptop and its perfect fit 2. Response is fast 3. no heating issues till now Dislikes:- 1. brought this product so, that i will get free migration Tool from ADATA website but its wrong . serial no. mentioned on SDD Box is not recognized by ADATA website so dont expect any migration tool from ADATA 2. contacted Service center and they support only HW issues if any. for any product registration no support available 3. If you are looking for good migration tool then go for Samsung which supports it else you need to search for free migration tool online which is not preferable

N'oubliez pas de faire créer une clé USB comme support de démarrage en cas de panne et évitez des frais important chez un magasin d'informatique.
