yes, the mugs are made in China. Also the mugs are stoneware, not corelle. But I have to say the set of Corelle plates, salad plates & bowls are awesome. The coffee cups are great for coffee, they are just a thicker quality.

Does andyone know what size microwave would be needed for these dishes? I don't want the edges of the plates to hit when rotating.

Since the larger dish is 10.25 inches square, the diagonal of this square indicates that the microwave should be at least 14.50 inches in order for the edges not to hit the sides.
