Works Fine - Nice smell

I don't leave a lot of reviews, particularly as I tend to fall for gimmicks and end up disappointed. This product was so good I had to share. Our Saniflow is six years old, and had functioned pretty well all that time, but recently, the macerator seemed to be running much longer than usual - and on occasions, I'd actually turned it off at the switch to try and stop it whirring away. I had assumed that it had reached the end of its life, but figured I'd give cleaning it a try. Now, I grew up in a house 30 years ago with Saniflows - and one in particular had a habit of going wrong and flooding the downstairs hallway. I remember the smell, and there's no way I wanted to experience that again, so I figured a product would be the better call. I used this according to the instructions - poured some down, let the saniflow start and then turn it off, then carried on adding some more. I probably used about half the container, to be fair. I left it for five hours. Smells pleasant enough. When I came to flush, I turned the saniflow back on and it did its job. When we have subsequently used the Saniflow, it is back to functioning as it did when we got it - short bursts of pumping and macerating, but certainly not going on for more than a few seconds at a time. Absolutely brilliant.

Works (and cleared the scale out of the toilet bowl itself too which was a nice bonus). A word of warning though: the ring below the cap which indicates whether the seal is broken (you can see it in the photo). This can drop off when the container is inverted. I didn't realise this and inadvertently flushed it into the macerator. Cue an unhappy macerator, an unpleasant half hour and a pair of rubber gloves going in the bin. Ultimately my fault, but still a bit of an oversight on the part of the manufacturer! One other point: the instructions say to turn the macerator on briefly the allow the fluid inside. In most cases this step does NOT actually apply: just switch the unit off and flush once to wash the cleaner into it. The step only applies if you have some sort of integrated system that won't flush unless the macerator is running.

I bought this as I had a bad smell coming from my Saniflo toilet. It is incredibly thick and after using a couple of times (probably once would have been enough if I had done it sooner) it seems to be much fresher. After turning off the electric you pour the liquid in the bottom of the toilet, once you have filled the bowl with approximately 1/3 of the bottle, then switch it back on for a few moments until it goes through to the works inside then switch off and leave overnight, if possible. Flush in the morning and nice clean toilet. I have used less amounts since just to keep the toilet fresh and it seems to be working.
