Can you use it to read LYING ON YOUR SIDE IN BED?

Well, I was worried about the same thing. But I have had mine for a month now, and this will NOT be a problem. I sue my book holder about 14 hours out of 24.  Lying in bed. I just take care to fold it back to center when I am not using it to I've the  extended arm a rest. This is the second one of these I have had. It is an amazing upgrade from the first version of several years ago. This first version, this was a problem, but not with this one. It is also a problem with the BookIt version from a different company. This company listens and made modifications. Excellent product. I recommend highly!

Question 2

Can you tilt it exactly parallel to the bed for someone who has to lie flat on their back without a pillow?

The printed material that accompanies the item says that it will allow you to read while lying in bed.I just tried to do it by lying on my ottoman and it stayed in place above me, but the type was so close to my eyes that I couldn't focus on it.  A handyman of mine assembled it.  There is probably an adjustment for this issue.  I just don't have an answer.

how easy is it to turn the pages? I see there are 2 page hold downs, wondering how this works.

Incredibly easy!  You just lift the little arms that hold the page down turn it and let the arms drop back down.  I love mine and I think you will too!  It's such an innovative item to have.  It works in bed or anywhere.  If you have any other questions please let me know! :D

can it hold a laptop? what is max weight it can hold?

I'm not sure what the maximum weight is but it is an extremely sturdy stand. I would suspect it would hold a light lap top. I have an old lap top that weighs 6.6 lbs and that slightly is barely too heavy. I would estimate any device 4.5 lbs or less would be fine.I use it alot and it saves my neck. Even though it's heavy and sturdy, the wheels make it easy to move around. I love it !!
