Easiest, most reliable printer I’ve ever owned
I really like this printer. It’s the easiest, most reliable printer I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned lots over the years. It’s quite compact & light & doesn’t take up too much room especially compared to my last Canon printer, which was bulky, heavy & unwieldy & btw like most printers I’ve ever owned, it never ever worked properly! Set up was so easy. I Downloaded the smart app onto my iPhone & iPad, PLUGGED in the printer, pressed a button & connected it straight to my WIFI, done. That’s it! Really! So easy & fast! I couldn’t believe the simplicity! also it only takes 2 ink cartridges 1 black & 1 colour. One of the harder things I find with printers is the ink! It runs out, you buy either genuine or compatible, it costs more money than the actual printer did and it doesn’t last very long. It’s messy and you need at least half a dozen different colours. Half the time it doesn’t print out very clearly or the colours are all wrong blah, blah, blah. So I signed up for the instant ink. I got 2 months free trial, plus I looked for other codes on google & ended up with a total of 4 months free trial. I signed up for the cheapest monthly payment, as under normal circumstances the printer will not be used too much. I’ve just got to the end of the first free month and because of homeschooling I have gone through an absolute butt tonne of printed pages every day. I’ve already had 2 sets of ink sent out to me at absolutely no cost. And if I want to print out 6 X 4 photos, as long as I do it through the print smart app, they are always free! (even after the free trial period has ended) I can print As many as I want and they don’t count towards my monthly allowance! Awesome! Just a quick note here - I don’t normally use the print smart app for my printing unless I want to print the free 6 X 4 photos. It’s much easier to just press the little square symbol, with the upward arrow (for options) This is on all apple devices & then whatever I want to print, be it photo, doc, screenshot etc, I just select print with HP smart. easy, peasy. I’m Very happy with my purchase. This is the first time I have ever said that I am happy with a printer purchase! I think the print quality is very good considering it only uses 2 ink cartridges. Although, If you do have an extra special photo that you want to print out & you want to put it in a nice frame etc , then I’d probably just go to a specialist photo shop & have them print it out. The one and only gripe I have with this printer is the high cost! It seems quite excessive, Obviously it’s early days yet , but after a months useage, I can honestly say it is worth every penny!

Simple and attractive smart printer with months of free ink!
Really impressed with this printer - it is an extremely compact design which can be placed anywhere in the home due to it's smart/wireless functionality. Simple guided setup and attractive phone app. The printer comes with 2 months of HP's Instant Ink service, which you can extend another one month with code "FQG53B", and then a further month with "FREEINK", whilst signing up for your initial free 2 months, totalling 4 months. I am extremely impressed at the quality of photos printed from this printer using the advanced photo paper that comes with it. This is an awesome bonus as it was never my intended use. Photos printed from this printer also do not count towards your Instant Ink usage.

Cute or what?
This HP Tango printer lost one star, but briefly. Wish I could give 4.5! Am delighted with the printer, but when it arrived 4 days ago, I was unable to print properly as the black cartridge supplied with it wouldn't deliver ink as it should, and left the trial pages streaky and definitely an unacceptable quality. Having gone through all the installation steps, taking the cartridge out, shaking it, cleaning the print head, aligning it, using the app to clean the print head (3 times), the printer finally said the print head (cartridge!) needed to be replaced. What a pain and very frustrating! I quickly ordered a Prime replacement from Amazon and called them. The Amazon Representative was great and immediately said he'd refund the cost of the new cartridge and said if this didn't work, I would need to send the printer back for an exchange. But, to my delight, once the new cartridge was installed - all was perfect. It had taken few attempts to get the printer to link to the home router, but no time at all to link to my phone (Galaxy S9 Dual Sim). and laptop. My iPad Pro also found the printer and was ready to go. I already have an HP Envy printer elsewhere and the app now allows me to choose which printer each time I print a document. The printer is incredibly neat and is slightly narrower front to back, than a sheet of A4 paper and approx 6" longer. All folds now neatly when not in use and looks very tidy. Clever to have a pull-out tray which is invisible when not in use. Have signed up for the Tango to use Ready Ink as this is flexible and in lock-down, I am needing less paper as everything is being sent on-line and only copy invoices etc for my own accounting are necessary. If this changes, I change the Smart Ink program to reflect a greater use of paper. The scan and print from my phone worked perfectly too. I will just make sure when printing a on-line bill for example, for my records, that I only print the top page with the figures on it, not a raft of unnecessary pages - which of course, would increase my use of the Ready Ink program as they charge by the page, not by the ink used. When I turn on the sockets in my study each day, the Tango immediately lights up and re-connects to the internet, with no intervention at all from me. HP was very helpful when I called them to ask a few questions about the flexibility of Ready Ink and what would happen if in an emergency I installed an HP but non-Ready Ink cartridge. Would I be charged for the pages used...? No, I was told, not if I replaced BOTH the black and colour cartridges at the same time as the printer would recognize that I was NOT using Ready Ink. I always keep spares in case a cartridge is faulty...especially as that exact thing happened when the printer arrived. Print quality is indistinguishable from my HP Envy printer which is very good as ideal for my small business. Overall very happy so far. If I wanted to transport it anywhere I'd buy the carry-case. However, my husband is also impressed and is likely to buy a Tango and case, as he (usually) works in various locations.
