Great polisher from a great company.
I wanted a better polisher than the PC 7424XP. What attracted me to this one after a lot of research was the torque management ability of this product. It works really well, allowing me to maintain constant speed at all times. You can hear the machine accelerating as you apply pressure and slowing down as you release. This feature makes it easier and requires less effort to polish but it also allows you to put more pressure on that specific scratch to increase the level of cutting while still being safe not to burn the paint. I like the soft start feature because it doesn't splash product all over the car during start up. Vibration levels are moderate during medium high speeds. At full speed the machine has a lot of vibration that made my hands numb at one point during a heavy cutting of some really bad paint. 98% of the time the machine will not see full speed as most cuts are done from 4800-5800 OPM. During the polishing and waxing in low speed the machine is super efficient and very low vibration levels. I am happy with this purchase and would buy again.

Doesn't come with backing plate. Shame.
Works great. Really like the lower profile. Smooth running by comparison to low end DA's.

Makes a detailing job go by so much faster, and easier. Your arms will thank you.
While I have had this polisher a few months, I was just now able to take it out and put it to use. I must say that this was my first step towards a nice DA polisher. I have used cheaper buffers before, and used them mainly for the finally buffing and removal stages. While they work, nothing can compare with the MT300. I can not vouch for the longevity of this, as I have only used it on one car thus far. But, for the money, I am very happy with the product. I was able to easily apply the Meguiars Glaze, and Hi-Tech Yellow wax with this product. I was able to have a very uniform application, and faster application than in times past. I was also very pleased with how deep and rich the paint looked after it was buffed. I am very particular and clay barred the car first. This honestly is the longest process, and how long it takes just depends on the condition of your paint. Then I applied the Glaze #7 with a black pad and the MT300, then I removed the glaze and buffed to a deep shine. Then I used Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26. I then used the Micro fiber finishing/buffing pads, and got a deep shine. No one would guess that the paint on this car is 10 years old.

Up, down, left, right, circle, square
I am not as impressed with this one as I was and still am with the original polisher made by Meguiars. Ive had the original for 6 or so years and its just now starting to die, which I believe all I would need are the motor brushes and it would return to life. This model however seems to perform more erratically for me, as I can set it to 3800 RPM and with no load can tell there is a distinct speed difference with every other time the trigger is squeezed. Its a decent polisher, and its handling the task when I use it but I get the feeling after just 4 details the motor shouldnt seem like its already dying. Maybe I got a defective motor, or the torque management system was damaged during shipping, I dont know. Ive definitely tested it thoroughly. It does work, and Im sure if it werent for the odd fluctuation i experience it would work and feel better, but I still use the original one as much as I can due to feeling more consistent control. UPDATE: I am one that likes to tinker with things that don't feel right until they're either completely boned, or right on the money. If it's boned, I toss it. This one, I felt boned when mid-detail, the entire thing just died on me. I checked every possible outside solution I could, and had left my first-gen Meguiars polisher at home because the current job was just a quickie and it's been slowing down after 7 years of use (99% chance it's just needing motor brushes to replace). I was left with just a couple options... I could put it away for the time, finish the job by hand, and send it to an unknown technician in a 'qualified' service center, or I could perform an exploratory surgery. I probably violated the warranty, but considering this one was frustrating me from the start, and now I mostly fixed the issue and know what its guts look like up close, who cares? Screw sending it to a technician where they could be working on it for any number of days, which are days it's not working for me bringing in money. Thankfully, my bold choice was rewarded, and instead of boning it, I got it right on the money. Very carefully, pulling one piece at a time off and putting them down in order, taking pictures now and then to make sure I had it right for reassembly... Completely dismantled, and not one thing appeared to be damaged, it was pristine. I felt stumped, but then I remembered if I put pressure on the power coord over its shielding that connects to the unit, before it would give me erratic oscillation. So, I cut that SOB right open, and low and behold, the negative wire was nearly sheered in half. I don't know how this happened, even the guard over that particular spot was flawless in form and left no explanation. I quickly re-wired it, took a deep breath and plugged it in, AND LIFE HAS COME TO MY POLISHER AT LAST! I still get that variable in power occasionally, where a 3800 rockets up to 5800, but it's brief, and only when I actually have pressure on the head now. So, I fixed the polisher, no technician or nothing, and am only about 6" shorter on power coord. Now I can say I'm more impressed with this thing, but still can only give it 4 stars due to the immediate defect I had spent months wondering if I was crazy about. So, for anyone who's had similar issues with theirs, gut it right by the trigger, that unit comes off separate from the motor housing, and check your positive and negative for any splits. It's a simple fix, just unplug it first so you don't kill yourself.

Awsome Unit!
Just received my new Meguiar's DA Polisher yesterday and used it on my wife's RDX last night...wow! This unit is really easy to use and I love the "soft start" feature, it really makes it nice to use and I didn't "sling" compound and wax all over the place. I already had a couple of backing plates and pads so it was good for me that this unit didn't come with those. If you don't already have them though, I recommend the 5" DBP5 backing plate (part number on mine) and the 5" polishing and finishing pads. The 5" size let's you work in the tighter contours of your car. This unit feels light in my hands and is just the right size for maneuvering around. It has a chart right on the unit that recommends the right speed to adjust the unit for waxing vs. polishing etc. I probably saved 20 mins using this unit vs. my older cheaper unit I purchased a couple years ago and this Meguiar's unit is much better quality. The adjustable handle is great but for me, the upright position seemed the most comfortable. I had my wife come out to try it. She actually said "she might wax her own car because this unit is so easy to use". I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Very effective tool
I bought this tool as I had two long (tree) scratches on my RV. I would say it saved me real money by buffing out the scratches so much so they were difficult to see. The same could have been achieved by hand polishing but it would have taken much longer.

Poor Polisher
Purchased the Meguiare's MT300 Polisher on September 22-2020 and first time I used this polisher it worked well. I used it again this past weekend and all it does is vibrate and will not rotate. It also shuts off after ten minutes of use. After twenty minutes of cooling off it runs again for only ten minutes and shuts off. The vibration on this polisher is terrible. It will somewhat rotate if I lift it off the paint. Even just resting the machine on the vehicle without any pressure the polisher will not rotate, it just stops. It was very easy to use when it worked the first time.

Great quality, easy to use
Surprisingly powerful, easy to use. I've used several orbital and rotary polishers before and this one is fantastic. Even when applying heavy pressure for paint correction it didn't slow down, and kept constant speed. Was very easy to use without leaving any swirl marks or buffer trails. Meguiars also does a great job of lining their products up in consumer and professional lines with easy to follow guides. Very easy to select polishes, waxes and accessories to go with this polisher. Worth the money

Solid.
Very happy with this guy so far. Due to getting it late in the season I've only used it once so far. But I can say it's made detailing much much easier. Look forward to using it again in the spring.
