PILOT Metropolitan Collection Fountain Pen, Black Barrel, Classic Design, Medium Nib, Black Ink (91107)

I am a first time fountain pen user and tried the Amazon basic one and it was spotty but ok. Almost turned me off to fountain pens though. I tried this pen, absolutely fantastic! This one could not be better. Never skips ink when writing, always smooth. I have changed the ink several times finding the blue I desire and it kicks right up immediately after the change and writes as if there was no disruption in the ink. This pen has no flaws that I can see at all. The price is right and it’s my number one go to, favorite pen. I will probably buy another in case down the road this one gets lost or something because this is top notch.

The pen feels good and writes spectacularly well. It comes with a single black ink cartridge and a squeeze converter for loading ink from a bottle. The CON-50 from pilot can be purchased separately for a better converter. If you are looking for a starter pen, you are done, buy this with confidence. Purchase a Kokoyu notebook or similar fountain-pen-friendly paper and have at it. This is all you need to know if fountain pens are for you or not. This metal pen has an understated styling that looks and feels far more expensive that it costs. The nib (mine was a medium) glides across the paper with a wonderful feel. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. For father's day, I was gifted a bottle of Pilot's iroshizuku shin-kai ink. I swapped out the cartridge for the squeeze converter and loaded some of the beautiful ink - perfection.

I bought this pen because it was on sale for a great price but I am yet to try it properly. I loaded the ink on the converter but it does not allow the ink to flow not sure why. I constant have to press it but it does feel like its soft and it has a medium nib which i prefer. Hopefully I can get it to work properly but it is a well made and beautiful pen. It also post really well.

This is just a clean good pen. I do a lot of writing and write with fountain pens a lot. I have often found that some just work better than others - pilot brand especially. This one is smooth and doesn't drip or any of that nasty stuff that comes with fountain pens under $50. For the price, I appreciate the fact that it came with both an ink adapter and full cartridge. I've never been able to afford a really expensive fountain pen, so I can't compare, but this one is enjoyable to write with, is well bell balanced, and comfortable in the hand.

This pen is very nice! It feels and looks great. I used the converter to fill the ink. I own several fountain pens, and when I use the converter, I fill and release the ink to prime the nib. However, for some reason, this didn’t work for me, and I was worried I had a defective nib. I tried slowly releasing some ink from the converter, and it seems to have resolved the issue. The nib is advertised as a medium nib, but the one I received is a fine point. It writes very well, without any skipping or scratching. Overall, it’s a very nice pen, and I hope the ink flow issue is resolved. For the price point, I recommend buying this pen.

This fountain pen is excellent! I have always been an avid user of pilot G2 pens and wanted to try a fountain pen from them. This pen is reasonably priced and writes like a dream. I will say the case was of okay quality, but I didn't buy it for packaging. If you're seeking a fancy looking gift pen this is probably not the best option. But if you're more concerned with the writing experience, I don't think you can beat it. I'll probably end up purchasing another one in a few months. Just make sure to buy good paper with it, I recommend Maruman Mnemosyne notebooks for the best experience.

Seriously pilot makes the best nibs, and for a general purpose pen, this is a heck of a bargain. Solid metal, smooth writing, doesn't leak, and writes reliably. I own several and quality has been super consistent across the board. Great gift pen too.

You just can't go wrong here. I have over half a dozen indifferent colours and nib sizes. An excellent pen, comfortable in the hand and the nibs are smooth as glass.

With the refillable ink converter this pen is phenomenal for work, would highly recommend for those who need a good quality pen or those who enjoy a good quality pen
